this..this is just breath taking in so many ways. i'm assuming its a mirror effect to dissect the cube and create the many recursions of it you see.

its actually a recreation of 3d sculpture. cube is dissected in 3 pieces made of 3 materials which fit perfectly together to form a cube. it was pretty darn hard to figure out the dissection really

heh making a cube is easy. its making a cube from something else is when it gets hard.

i can see what you did. on the first side facing us i see a 4 sided dissection and to the back i see the triangle cuts and i'm assuming the rest wraps around to make the cube perfectly.

yes it makes perfect full cube pretty awesome the guy who though this one out really did great job

after looking at his original depictions my assumption was incorrect. its just a oversized polygonal mashup to make the cube. what a mathematical wonder he did

yeah for productviz like stuff fry owns

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShippD In reply to zipper [2010-01-24 15:09:05 +0000 UTC]

it owns it all for reality looking stuff or just anything and setup time is not bad at all and it will render forever if you let it thats one thing i like about it if you are doing a test render you dont have to let ir run until its done you can stop it at anytime and see the results

a w tle okno tarasowe !

... haha P

So does Fry' add the scratches for you or what?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zipper In reply to Nimphious [2008-11-22 13:16:21 +0000 UTC]

nope but its making them look pretty

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nimphious In reply to zipper [2008-11-22 23:05:31 +0000 UTC]

Well at least you have the option to scratch it properly, then. For that cube the scratches didn't really make sense since it's a sculpture, and they're usually kept in good condition, but it just wouldn't look the same without them!

Ahh the bane of photo-realistic 3D rendering...

it does look good

may want to consider some dirt at the base, it looks kind of floaty

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zipper In reply to simplychen [2008-11-21 20:40:23 +0000 UTC]

it IS floaty. its put on a metal stick actually

zipper In reply to Zortje [2008-11-22 13:18:50 +0000 UTC]

vray is fun unless uneed to push tour quality very high then its 10hours of render anyway

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zortje In reply to zipper [2008-11-22 18:40:06 +0000 UTC]

Is fry render faster?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zipper In reply to Zortje [2008-11-22 19:56:08 +0000 UTC]

welll abit slower than that but u will gain on the setup time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Zortje In reply to zipper [2008-11-22 21:55:36 +0000 UTC]

Aha

Well thanks for the advice

And again, awesome deviation
