Description
I realized that I don't often draw warm, positive things. A shame, I thought, so I threw this one in.A young Kadaera with the love of her life, Tilari, enjoying one of the first warm days. Good thing neither of them had a pollen allergy.
I said "had", because this scene is one from the past. It took place long before the event that turned Kadaera in the ruthless, revenge-driven demon hunter she is today. Back then she was simply a young woman heading to an unknown, but not neccessarily frightening future with the person that meant most to her.
Needless to say, it's one of her most precious memories.
And yeah, I've kinda been addicted to drawing grass lately. I'm just so happy I finally learned how to do it.
Kadaera and Tilari are my OCs from my and 's original RPG.

Hello there, here I am with my a.deviantart.net/avatars/p/r/p⦠" alt=" " title="ProjectComment" /> part of the Comment Tag Game. My Tag was intimacy, so I picked this picture here. Aaaand since you asked for a real critique for this, I will give it to you

My first impression: what a cute couple.
You have a fine sense of composition and fine little details, especially in the faces and the shading; hair or hands are have great details too. the flowers around the couple show that it is spring, but the warm clothing shows that it is not that warm yet.
what puzzles me is the left leg of the lady in blue. I understand that her friend has her arm between there, but the direction her left foot is pointing is simply painfull in my opinion.
but besides of that little mistak, it is an awesome work and lovely piece e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you for your critique!
I'm glad you think they're cute, since I aimed to show a softer side on them. Also thank you for your compliments on the details. (I love drawing hair, but the gras was a pain.)
You're also right about Tilari's foot. Thanks for pointing it out, I didn't notice before.
Thank you again!

For
This is a nice little piece! The cool colours give a really calm and serene atmosphere and the pose lends to that a lot as well. Their faces are very expressive and overall it all just gives a really nice feel! However, I do think that composition-wise, the feet leading out of the frame is slightly distracting. It keeps leading me right out of the picture and I think that if the feet ended just within the frame, it would be a lot more aesthetically pleasing. At the moment I feel it makes it seem a bit heavy in the lower left corner. I also think there could be a bit more to the shadows below them - at the moment there isn't much definition there and it kind of makes them look as if they're floating and distracts from the 3D look. I also think the redhead's face could use slightly more shadows, maybe on her cheek below her hair, as it seems less so compared to the rest of her body. Possibly the same to the dark-haired girl, some shadows beneath the hair on the face to give it a bit more depth. The rest of the shading is really nice though and I think the background looks adorable! The fur is also very well drawn So generally yes, I think this is such a soft and calming painting!Β

Sorry for the late reply.
And thank you for your thoughts on this.
I really should have used a bit more shading and now that you mention it, I can also see the problem with the composition because of the foot. I'll keep it in mind.
I'm happy to hear that you like the atmosphere and background, since these were what I was focussing on, here.

IΒ You did a great job with the flower, the fur and the grass details. The shadows were well placed as well.
I feel like the characters were just placed on top of the background and it donβt flow naturally.
The character in blue, her legs doesnβt feel natural the anatomy is a bit off.
The hairs came out really good and I love how they flow.

Ah, the grass does look nice! You have become good at drawing it, and I love how you chose to shade it as well. I bet you could combine the hand-drawn method you used here along with the brushes - use the brushes first, and then hand paint grass over it in the places you want to put the most focus on, like in the foreground.
Β
Lovely work!

Yes, that was my idea too. It would save a lot of time and effort while I could still show off my new skills.
