Description

Emoos are a ludicrous idea you say?!

You may well laugh... but Zachar hereby predicts that as of like, soon, they will have overrun parts of Australia you don't know about yet 'cos it's a big cunt tree and all...

So you haven't heard about the existence of emoos yets? Well, you probably won't find out about them because they're REPRESSING NEWS about the emoo threat to, like, Australian cows...

'Cos cows are like native to Australia, right? I mean the beef industry is so ever present and they're fucking everywhere so you'd think they were native...

Well, As if far as I'm concerned, the lack of publicity about the emoo menace ALL BUT PROVES that they really do exist. How could they keep this phenomenally frightening travesty to all things god intended; it's genetic engineering gone wild!  ...Or maybe it's the disgusting abomination of INTERBREEDING... In any case, it is almost undoubtedly so shocking and vile and YOU COULDN'T EVEN FIND the words to describe it. Oh, they will never forgive you for allowing this to happen...

HOW DARE THEY HIDE THIS INFORMATION FROM YOU!!!

Luckily, Zachar, intrepid creator of outrageous travesties, is here to make stuff up and lie to you about it...

But seriously folks, this artwork is not only about the dangers of interbreeding and genetic engineering.

It is mostly a sort of a commentary on the incredible hypocrisy of Australian customs policy.  Namely, whereas on the one hand they hold draconian customs checks and fine you hundreds of dollars for bringing in a banana peel, still the imposition of English colonialism in Australia allowed the virtual raping of the whole continent for the Crown.

They slaughtered the natives, they spread diseases and introduced every possible species of animals including rabbits which have become a veritable plague. They truly fucked up Australian nature, stole native lands and built mines everywhere sucking the country dry of it's rich minerals and fossil fuels. Furthermore, they feed kangaroos to their pets and worst of all, they allowed the beef industry to become so prevalent that the cows are now an ever present part of Australia. Like sheep, they've become inscribed into the cultural fabric so that you could easily think they had wandered around the Australian outback before the wild emus were ever there. The shearing of the Rams, anyone?

Needless to say, they're not native. But it's an industry and people make enormous amounts of money from it and therefore it's allowed to happen. Despite the fact that they produce so much methane and eat so much grass to be slowly digested in their four stomachs. They are an utter waste of energy and are worse for the environment than cars. No one questions their everpresence in Australian life. At least when I lived there which was more than a quarter of a century ago.

Seeing that the British have just signed a trade deal allowing the import of genetically modified beef from Australia, there seems to be no holding up or limiting this industry. In fact, it will only get bigger. Australia which can allow more cows to fester, is going to fuck up the farming industry in the United Kingdom where the standards used to be higher and where cows are actually native.

Maybe the cows have interbred with the the emus and are now an actual threat to the colonies that have raped the country, kidnapped native children and criminalised them when they fought for their rights and to stop greedy ol' cow farmers from desecrating their sacred ground?

I mean, those who profit from the exploitation of the environment would certainly deserve such a fate. It'd be poetic justice.

Sick the EMOOs on 'em, I say!

*I also made this because I remember hearing on Ripley's Believe it or Not - an American television show - about the wild Australian "emoos" in Australia which sort of reminded me how desolately far we were away from anywhere else, how enormous the country is and how very out of place I felt there.
