Rainbow Dash has finally become a full fledged Wonderbolt. As is tradition, during the graduation ceremony she gets to fly with them for the first time!Just another boring routine flight, no surprises whatsoever, right?

As is most of the time, I don't have a problem with your art skills or the way you drew this. I just so happen to detest combining innocent ponies with the scum of our world. Alcohol is an example.

Actually, they are. Your own perverse "interpretations" of the show doesn't make it right. Fan art is free to "deviate" from the shows innocence, but that doesn't take away from it's trashy smutty crap.

Regardless of your personal/LDS take on alcohol, I think you undermine your point by overreacting about Champagne, of all things, especially as it's not even being consumed in an irresponsible way. You are quite right that fans of MLP far too often take innocent things in absurd directions, but ragging on a traditional celebratory drink ordinarily served in amounts that cannot possibly lead to drunkenness comes off (to me, anyway) as presumptuous and mean-spirited.
Besides, who's to say it's real Champagne (other than the artist)? I've celebrated nearly every new year in my life with Martinelli's (non-alcoholic) sparkling cider, so maybe the Apple family has just hooked up the Wonderbolts...

I was actually speaking in a very general term when I starting talking about how the brony fandom perverts things. I didn't mean that consuming alcohol was any of that. Although if you think about it, it looks like Rainbow Dash is very uncomfortable in this position, with her new peers pressuring her to drink alcohol. I don't like fan interpreted-ponies to do that to Dashie.
If you're suggesting I pretend it's not alcoholic when the artist clearly says it is... well... I don't do that kind of thing. I don't like "interpreting" what something means when there's a clear answer.
Hey man, don't worry. Every New Year's and Christmas, my family's French family friends (if that makes any sense) brings tons of non-alcoholic sparkling cider. And it's reaaaallllyyy goood.

I tend to agree with you on those general terms, so I guess I'm just taking umbrage at your comments seeming to apply to this picture. While Dash looks uncomfortable, I think that's because she's surprised and about to get popped with a cork from a highly agitated bottle (after who knows how many loops and whirls).
Also, you're right that pretending something is the opposite of the artist's intent is not sensible--Which leaves me still confused about your reading of things, as the description mentions only cider... Maybe I missed the artist's comments elsewhere?

However, though I have the habit of leaving room for speculation and let watchers reach their own conclusions, it still concerns me to see that what seemed to be an insignificant detail could spoil the picture for some.
While my stance on the topic hardly matters, the fact remains that because the picture in this particular case needed only be cute and kind of silly (which I guess is uncommon for me anyways), it's something that could have better been avoided. This is specially true as, being an event entry, the concept did not come completely from me.
In any case, it reminded me of a certain short-lived silly derpy incident at the header of a drawfriend.
Finally, while I appreciate everyone's insight, this isn't really something you should be discussing within the comments section as it's hardly related to the picture in this case... and I think the previous posts had wrapped it nicely as you can see in the "conveniently" hidden reply tree here [link] which you might have missed (as they tend to hide when there's just so many replies!). So there's no need to bring it back.

This ain't trashy or smutty, that's insulting for the artist, dude. The artist is free to make the art at any content he\she wants it to be. Don't like don't comment.

I actually didn't call this trashy or smutty, though ponies drinking alcohol might be close to that. A good artist knows when to take constructive criticism and when to let the negative comments roll off their back. Too many artists throw a temper tantrum and block somebody when they say, "I don't like this" on their art. And if you look carefully, I clearly said the artist is free to do what he/she wants.
Not very good logic. Regardless, this is an art website. Feedback is good.
