Description
Nightbird was a female ninja robot introduced in the cartoon episode "Enter the Nightbird." She quickly became a favorite of Megatron's, but was deactivated by the end of that episode.

The character was designed by Floro Dery, the principal character designer for the first two seasons of the show. No final animation model of Nightbird has ever surfaced, but I found an early concept illustration of her online. A lot of Floro Dery's early concepts for characters showed them with open panels full of exposed circuitry, and they were usually far too detailed for use in episodic animation. I was able to doctor the illustration, removing the extraneous details and coloring it. The drawing was small and kind of pixelated, so I also ran it through a vector conversion program, which resulted in making it look like a second- or third-generation photocopy (in other words, exactly what we as Transformers fans are accustomed to seeing).
