I've seen a few of the AoStH episodes on DVD, and there was a quicksand PSA at the end of that episode with the sloth-characters... the one where Robotnik was trying to catch Sonic with a slow-mo ray to make him slow enough to capture - in the end, Scratch & Grounder damage it, causing the ray's effects to reverse... and Tails gets hold of it and makes the sloths faster so that they can help him rescue Sonic.

Of course sinking Tails (and Rouge really) either requires a bit of suspension of disbelief given that they can fly... or for their means of flight to be incapacitated first
That's probably why I don't sink Tails much.
