This pic started the whole Gainax vs Capcom gallery I've been working on for the past year.I came up with this idea...actually, do I need to tell you? I mean look at it. I saw Tron Bonne, and thought, hang on, that's kind of like Simon's Lagann...but which is better, Tron Bonne & Gustaff or Simon & Lagann? There's only one way to find out...FIIIIIIIIIIGHT!
Took me 5 hours from pencil sketch to upload.
[edit 31/2/15: As this was the first entry in the Gainax vs Capcom gallery, I've since looked back at it and grown more and more unhappy with the shading and highlighting. So I have improved it. The original lines and flattened colours are the same, just the shading and highlights have been altered. Oh, and I gave Simon shorts.]

I'd buy that for a dollar! We've already had Capcom vs Tatsunoko, and Gainax has a bigger library of characters that are far more well known around the world than Tatsunoko's; Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Gunbuster, Panty and Stocking, FLCL...

Having routed through Capcom's back-catalogue, I've found one character who could go toe-to-toe with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann...PYRON. [link]

Aaaah, but if it were just the two of them fighting, with no back up from Servbots/Gurren...both of them are expert "diggers", and both of them have drills at their disposal. But where Tron Bonne has an IQ of 180, an impressive arsenal of weapons and makes her own mecha, Simon has "infinite spiral energy". All he has is Lagann, though.

Tron, I liberated humanity from an entire army of beast people in giant robots. I defeated the king of them, who's lived a thousand years, by poking him in the chest. I can create drills, larger than skyscrapers, through sheer force of will, and crucify other mecha on a giant pair of sunglasses. Do you really want to try to take anything from me?

Tron may have servbots, but Simon could call on Kamina for backup. I'm fairly sure no-one has ever lost at anything with Kamina as backup.
