I'm really happy with how this turned out. I studied a lot of references trying to get this right. I used the show as a main reference and added my own touch to it. This is all animated in place with the Rig's Root doing all the movement. The eureka moment was finally figuring out how to make it so when the hooves are on the ground they don't slide; the mostly plain ground may not show it well, but I got it perfect! I made sure no parts ever collide with each other and the hooves never clip through the ground.
Don't pay too much attention to the background or sound. I just threw some pieces together to build some sort of scene, and some pieces' textures obviously don't scale too well. It was also surprisingly difficult finding show-like hoofstep sounds and syncing them to feel right was also difficult; I still don't think I got it right.

I'm not fully comfortable sharing my source files yet. I'm using my own modified rigs so the animation wouldn't be compatible with what you'd be using. Plus this animation was made with 2.79 and some work still has to be done to port it to 2.8.
The best advice I can give is to make sure that when the hooves are touching the ground they stay locked to it. Usually you would give the Root Bone linear motion and make sure the hooves match its speed with Linear Interpolation when touching the ground.

Is the cycle available for download at all? This is gorgeous!

I thought about it but I'm not sure if it would be a good idea. The animation cycle uses a version of the rig that I've modified which makes it incompatible with the base rig. I also haven't messed around with my rig enough to know if I would call it "Production Ready". It probably breaks more features than it adds, especially if whoever uses it already knows enough about the base rig. It removes all IK & FK functionality to use different leg bones. But if someone really thinks they could do or learn something with it I'd be willing to reconsider. Thank you for the appreciation though!

I think it's wonderful! But I understand the modified rig. If you start up a patreon, I think you could make a really good passive income (even though you have the coffee function set up on your page). I think people would be really interested in supporting you monthly! Then you could set goals and release things at your own will. I know I would be interested for sure.
