Description
"Well, it looks like I know where I'll be crashing while I'm being "reformed"... With you Fluttershy.""Oh, dear."
My Little....... PTEROSAUR!
I plan on doing renditions of all the main cast as those magnificent flying reptiles, the pterosaurs! Discord is based off Pterodaustro (fittingly, one of the strangest pterosaurs of all) while Fluttershy is a Pterodactylus.
There's a few pterosaur and paleoart related jokes going on with Disaustro, about 4 to 6, see how many you can guess.
Next time we'll meet the queen and her [terrifying!] subjects.

Are you a wizard? Can you turn me into a dragon? A fire breathing dragon?
the size of the moon?

*zap* You are now a fire-breathing moon-sized dragon! Unfortunately, by the time you finish reading this the spell will have worn off...

I did something like this too! cjcroen.deviantart.com/art/My-… Check it out!
Heh, Discord looks like something David Peters dreamed up XD Appropriate, considering Discord's affinity for chaos. Great picture, BTW, and Fluttershy as a Pterodactylus fits (I would've made her one in my picture, but I wanted to stick with Cretaceous pterosaurs for it), since they're so small (and cute X3).

And you're spot on with regards to Discord!

I think one of them are the quills on his back which is a reference to that guy, forgot his name, who claims he can see details others can't which could also be the tail as well.

You're on target! The guy you're thinking of is David Peters who manipulates photos of pterosaur fossils on photoshop and "sees things". The plumes coming off the back are reference to Longisquama, an odd reptile that Peters thinks is ancestral to pterosaurs for some reason. Other references to Peters' work include the ultra-narrow wing membrane, the claw on the end of the wing, the furry tail tuft, the upright posture (he thinks pterosaurs were bipeds), and the whacky crest. If want more info on this guy, go here. Given all this, it seemed fitting to incorporate these elements into the MLP master of chaos!
The only other joke is Disaustro's feathered dino arm showing the typical broken wrists and inaccurate feathering typical of older paleoart.

If I may drop a suggestion, Celestia should most certainly be a Quetzalcoatlus!

And Rarity and Tapejara, so she can obsess over her beautiful crest.

We think alike. Though I'm going with its cousin, Tupandactylus, it's got an even bigger crest!

Ooh, an even better idea! (Applejack a Pteranodon? Since they're found primarily in Texas and Kansas)

I was going save Pteranodon for RD, since it looks very aerodynamic and sporty. For AJ I was thinking Anhanguera, the theory being that she's an excellent fisherman, rather than an apple farmer, and three fish as a cutie mark accordingly.
Twilight will be a Shenzhoupterus since it looks sort of big headed (which equals brainy I guess ). That just leaves Pinkie, I was originally going to make her a Dsungaripterus since it has a perpetual smile, but it seems unfair not to have a rhamphorhynchoid in the mix, so maybe I'll make her one of them. What do you think?

Hmm....all good choices. Perhaps a Dimorphodon for Pinkie? When they have those huge, toothy mouths?
