That line from Starlight has to be the most meta from last week's episode.Anyway, in my head this was funny, but when I fleshed it out in comic form, I think it just came out as frickin' disturbing. I even had Twilight with sad eyebrows and crying at the last panel but that was when I said "me pasé de verga" or... "I over did it". So I cut it out and made Twi gray-scale and have 'The Sound of Silence' to make it more comical and less dark.
I don't know where exactly, but somehow I know I misspelled "princess" somewhere in there...

I think a better thing that Starlight could have said was "Yeah, but Celestia is more like our Queen while you're more like an old chum or something".
It would have at least been interesting to see Starlight question why Celestia simply goes by the title of Princess when she's obviously Equestria's Queen.

Is that "better" as in "more accurate" or as in "more tactful?" Because it would not be more accurate; Twilight's title is a joke, as is the pretense that she has any kind of status or authority, and it's about time the writers got around to acknowledging it.

Apparently the title of "Princess" isn't all MLP:FiM has tried to make it out to be, especially since Celestia was Originally meant to be a Queen before Hasbro decided to have MLP get competitive with the Disney Princess franchise, and Celestia & Luna both seem to share the rank of Queens despite being called "Princesses", and while Cadence does seem to have Some status & authority Mainly with the Crystal Empire, she doesn't seem necessarily as high ranking or important as Celestia and/or Luna are considered, Twilight seems more like some kind of Back-up Princess for like an Emergency or something, still they should still do something to point out the Celestia is more of a Queen than anything else.

I can see Starlights point though. Ponies grew up with Celestia. Cadance, Luna and Twilight are compared with that uncomparable newcommers.

This episode at least established Celestia as an effective leader. Unlike Twilight, who lost her head in a crisis instead of stepping up to it.

LOL, yeah, Celestia totally redeemed herself with that episode - one time she averted a problem on the span of almost 8 years. Yes, that was sarcasm.
Twilight had her screw ups, but she still did way more than sunbutt. Eh, whatevs, why do I even work myself up over this?

Yeah, saving Equestria from Storm King, establishing a friendship school, playing major part in defating the Pony of shadows,helping Starlight to reignite her friendship with Sunburst, helping (if only a little but still) CMC in their first map mission...But yeah I know you already have some convenient arguments on why those supposedly won't count. Sure, my friend, I guess you have your reasons to be that way.
I remember that conversation we had a while ago.

You're right, I do:
1) She undermined the campaign to save Equestria from the Storm King every step of the way, was bailed out by her friends after managing to get herself captured, and took the credit both for their actions and for Tempest deciding to repay the Storm King's betrayal with betrayal. Par for the course.
2) Likewise she was the problem with the Friendship School and it only got off the ground once she stopped intervening in it and let ponies with better judgment take over. "Getting out of the way" is no great accomplishment. But it could be easily repeated, and on a much bigger scale, simply by staying home under that blanket and pillows, like she wanted. As was right.
3) She didn't actually do anything in Shadow Play but stand around and look conflicted. Even her big speech to Stygian at the end was taken over by Starlight. I know the episode was supposed to be about her choosing between her aspirations and her morals, but it fails to actually do that by making her a completely passive character. Still manages to get credited by Star Swirl of all ponies. But she knows better. She knows who to thank. She just won't say it in front of everyone else.
4) Starlight's friendship with Sunburst exists in name only. Kindof like Celestia's relationship with Luna for the six and a half seasons between when she supposedly "reignited" it and A Royal Problem.
5) Speaking of A Royal Problem, she meddled in that too and made everything worse. You'd think she'd know better not to butt into other characters' episodes when she's not wanted.
