I finally broke out my watercolor pencils again. I've been meaning to try this sort of style with them for a long time now, and I must say I'm rather pleased with the result.
There's a metallic gold outline around Wolf Link, and yes, it's shiny. Seriously, this gold ink I got is the coolest thing ever.
Watercolor pencils, micron, white gellyroll, gold ink. Watercolor paper 6inch x 4.5inch. Around 4 hours.

And yeah, I totally get where you're coming from with the fur length on his neck. Once I finished coloring that with the pencils, I looked at it and wasn't quite satisfied with that bit...I'll definietly keep that in mind for next time, though.
As for the earring - I realized I forgot that right after I finished inking the lineart, of course. I actually kind of threw a little fit because I was so upset I forgot it and should I add it and risk it not looking good or leave it out and just be satisfied with not-totally-correct design? I actually managed to pull my mom into it too. XD But in the end I just left it how it was.
I would think the Triforce mark would be on his left paw - the one that's visible - because that's where it is when Link is human, on his left hand. Though, I'm not quite sure how visible it is...aside from that first cutscene where Link becomes a wolf the first time, I don't believe you can ever really see it again...I'm sure it would be visible, though. Like a...dark grey...against the white or something, like it's brown against Link's pale skin in human form.
I actually haven't tried using the gold ink in water yet, it's just been on it's own so far. But I'll definietly try that sometime soon!

Omg. About the earring. I do that ALL the time (almost every art trade when I see someone's character that has any kind of earring). It's sad too because I always KNOW I'm going to forget it, and I always do! Arg! I agree though, he looks fine with it left off, so I wouldn't risk adding it now either.
Ooh, and yes! Let me know when you play around with the ink! I personally love the splatter effect it can make and haven't seen many other artists besides yourself mention inks as a medium for something other than inking! You were actually the one who inspired me to use them at first, and then I just got in the habit of mixing them with the watercolor xDD
