Yeah i agree i think that they could crush Aangs heart,Zutara would have been an itresting pair though Romeo and Juliet sort of thing, still though i'm for Kataang, but i do respect Zutara and don't bash them.

And I completely respect that. That's probably why they took it up with Aang, because they've already built him up to like Katara so much that if she didn't end up with him, he wouldn't have anyone to calm him down and he probably couldn't handle it.

Yeah but if she did end up with Zuko Aang would hurt no doubt about it but if he truly loves he would let her be happy, which is why Zutara would have worked.

Well i think that it was just a cute pair i like Kataang for the amount of emotion in it. Zutara has lots more passion maybe the creators decided to go emotion instead of passion

That's bryke trolling the fandom, they have always done that. Even if they did, its mostly hyperbole. The chibi shorts did more trolling.
I'm not sure if I'd call those evidence, though. The Waterbending scroll and COD being two of the most popular "evidence" - just looking at the first episode, it was hinted that Katara and Aang were going to be together. I think the creators felt that Zutara would've been pure "stockholm syndrome" which is rather cliche. Just my two cents.

Too bad Zuko was in love with Mai, I don't think Katara dying would've changed that. If anything, it would prove how utterly stupid Zuko is on the battlefield. For christ sakes, Zuko took advice from Ozai in The Promise comics.

I really don't think Zuko LOVES Mai. They never showed any real passion towards each other. I think the creators just needed to put him with someone and Ty Lee was too ditzy. Mai is on the same emotional wavelength with Zuko, (even if she is emotionless)
But anyway that's why we have our fan art right?! to fill the void in our imaginations!

Actually, its strongly hinted that Zuko and Mai have intercourse (the part with the fruit tarts in the Head band episode). And the look he gave Sokka when asked about his girlfriend in the Boiling Rock. In any event, Mai and Zuko are still very much together in the Promise comics (canon comics approved by the creators, which is written by a Zutarian).
But I think we can all agree that the show didn't have a very good ending, if Bryke wanted Kataang they should have gotten more development. It was like... Katara was confused and then there a couple. I liked the action, but ending could have been more conclusive.

I don't think Zuko really was in love with Mai. Or vise versa with Aang and Katara. With Aang it was obvious, but Zuko and Mai seemed to be more frisky than in love with each other. That's why I'm not happy with the series when it ended. I'm not just saying this cause I prefer Zuko and Katara, but I just didn't agree with the whole MaixZuko thing since they kept breaking up and fighting and Zuko didn't seem that into her. Ya know? I'm sorry I'm babbling.

Didn't seem that into her? He was flat out jealous and overprotective during The Beach, and they had crushes on each other when they were kids, before Zuko got banished. Mai even sacrified herself so Zuko's life would be spared, if that isn't love then I don't know what is. If anything, the fandom constantly acts like Mai never existed in the show.
Zuko never showed even the slightest interest in Katara, and neither did Katara show any interest in Zuko.

I agree with you but if Katara died, Aang would have either gone into the avatar state or resorted to spiraling depression, Zuko would be all depressed, Sokka would never get over it and would become an alcoholic and beat Suki and Toph would be like "So what?"

This is depressing, but very interesting to think about. I dunno if she'd be able to run from it or not. Like dodge it, you know? I'm glad he saved her 
But if he realized his love for her at her death, he would definitely not care for his life anymore, he's been through so much. Then everything would just be so sad.
