Wow! I also always try to make it as 3D as this is, but I always fail, also use Apo 3DH when trying to make 3Dish stuff, how do you do that? Take a look at my fractals if u want to!

If you check the params you'll see I've used Spherical 3D on the FT, which enabled me to use pitch and yaw thus bringing out the 3D fx quite nicely in this image, if I do say so myself.
