Description
Moons of Jupiter Expedition [link]
We found this fructiverous vegform in the unexpected flora of Ganymede in a pocket of interesting species which included the Una Magnifica [link]
These pods burst and releasing very elegant floating sporangia [link] which, after examination in the lab, were found to also serve as the vehicle for a very noxious virus. Fortunately we had handled them with extreme care and none of the team was infected.

It's like some sort of glass tree thing with a fiber glass stalk decided to sprout in the middle of space. But, for some reason it keeps making me think of a baloon animal... I have no idea why though.
Great work!

Yes, I get that too, an alien veg-form hosting balloons of eggs, like frog-spawn perhaps.

Yes, it does that. Well spotted. Perhaps that can be an alternative title.

I'll be looking at the article tomorrow.
I'm back home where I'm needed.
I did enjoy the break though.
