'A Change for the Better' is a fanfic I wrote in comic book style way back in the mid-90s. I got the talented Dave Edwards to do the comic version in 95. Dave has given his permission to post the comic.Dave Edwards - Artwork & Lettering

"Somewhere in the Australian Outback."
Starscream sits among the vastness of the Australian outback, notorious
for its desert heat and seeming lack of life. His legs are outstretched
in front of him, his hands are behind him to support his leaning back
while he studies the cloudless blue sky.
"Starscream has a lot to be contemplative about these days. His recent
contact with the Transformers sacred life-force, the Creation Matrix, has
changed the back-stabbing, arrogant, and overall command hungry being
into something he is having a awful time excepting."

I think this /may/ be the only comic he did, but I could be wrong. He's not on Deviant Art that I'm aware of which is a shame really. TY for your comment and fave.

Starscream looks like he's taking a breather. Who could blame him though being stuck with Megatron all the time? He does look relaxed too. It's good that something other than fighting is something he gets the chance to do.

I always wondered what would have happened if Starscream hadn't died after getting the matrix in G2... I'll be looking forward to this. ^_^

It looks like this is going to be an interesting comic.
But as someone who has lived in the Austalian outback for most of their life, I can't help but notice how the setting is completely wrong, that is an American desert, not the Austalian outback, nor even an Australian desert. For one, we don't have tall branching cactus plants, or tumbleweeds(which are found near beaches in the dunes.) For the land to be so empty it would be completely flat,and even then there would be some drought resistant grasses (like spinifex) and low lying shrubs
I think it may have been beneficial if the artist had done some background research first.... But I understand that this comic has been completed some time ago, I just felt the need to clear up some misconceptions about my country

Mind you I did not do the artwork on this, just the story and the coloring. Sorry if it bothers you to see the outback incorrectly portrayed. I do agree some background research would have been good. But as you said it was years ago and I'm not going to ask Dave to redo after all this time.

Well, the whole Starscream getting the matrix, I do believe I saw a reference to it from the G2 comics. Now where this is headed, I don't really know but I like it so far!

This story is based off the G2 storyline where SS did indeed get a hold of the Matrix. This explores what the comic didn't, and that is what could have happened to SS.
