Started this one back at the beginning of June. Oddly enough, this was the last render I was working on before I temporarily lost my eyesight. I only needed to bake the final render, and do some quick postwork in Gimp.
Just taking a short break from responding to comments and notes after being gone for so long. I'm going thru some serious Fern withdrawal, but wanted to finish this one first. So get ready for some Fast & Furious Fern coming up next!
But for now... back to the comments and notes. 
Kanan's earpiece modeled and textured by me (hardly worth mentioning, but I know some would probably ask).

Simply amazing - the focus and soft edges, the way it conveys emotion, concern and closeness. To me, these two are more than just friends or colleges on the Ghost. Totally ship them. Β Β *fangirl moment* I hope Rebels will explore more romance between them.

Thank you! I'm very honored that you like it so well. I could really get into producing more Kanera artwork. Their relationship on the show is so under developed and underutilized. For Pete's sake, Kanan lost his sight, and all he gets is a stinking hug, lol! I know it's considered a kids show, but come on already. Let them kiss!

Ain't it funny how coincidence can line up like that? In all seriousness, though... this has got to be one of my all-time favorite pieces you've produced thus far! The scene itself is quite simple, but you're able to express so much with so little through your render. I would love to offer a more formal critique, should you desire it when I have a bit more time. But, suffice it to say, this piece is full of emotion. The expression of love and concern of Hera's face, and Kanan's slumped shoulders and defeated posture really convey a sense of vulnerability and doubt that he must be facing, having lost his sight. Bravo, Obi! Bravo!

True. Facial expressions are key, but the eyes... I believe they are hands down the most important feature beside the lips and mouth. You know I've got it bad for eyes. I'm hooked on Hera's eye's so expect more Hera like this. I'm glad you liked it by the way.

This is an amazing piece of work. Β The painful emotions are expressed just right, neither too subtle nor over the top. Β
The foreground foliage makes it feel like we're spying on the couple. Β It's an interesting choice since it actually heightens the sense that we are looking at something real and organic as opposed to a staged image. Β Beautiful.
The quality of work is so outstanding it actually looks like it could be a still from the series. Β Congratulations.

Thank you for the concern. I've had it before, but seldom in both eyes. Its sort of like looking thru someone else's glasses. So you can see things, but with no details. Its more of an annoyance then anything, and kind of depressing. Everything involves seeing, so you tend to feel sorta isolated if you know what I mean. I'm very glad it's over.
