Description
My Jedi Shadow OC, Fernopatrix Zire, from SWTOR. Just finished cleaning up all the textures/materials and adding the rest of her head tattoos. I really like the lekku ornaments that I used for her mummy halloween costume, so I'm keeping them all year round.

I'm so sorry, but I don't have the time available to take on commissions, let alone create my own artwork. I wish I did, but RL keeps me quite busy.
You might want to check with Crimsonight , who is a really good friend of mine. I know he's created Sith Purebloods for commission before, although I'm not sure if he's currently accepting commissions. Couldn't hurt to ask though.

Jedi intelligence, as of late, has been unreliable, outdated or incomplete. Hopefully she's not walking into a trap...

I'm attempting to make G2F and V4 versions that look as close as possible. Both versions have their strengths, and it would be nice to have them be interchangeable. Mostly the face, the body wouldn't have to be exactly the same. Anyways ... Hope you like it!

I logged on the game tonight. It's been a while since I played. I'm almost like a noob, lol. I've forgotten so much + with the change to the discipline paths. I basically set out a whole season of PVP. With the level cap increase I need to get my toons to 60 (at least Fern). I'll try not to let that get in the way of her backside and your face!

I love those eyes, but you already know that.
Of course, you know me, I have a constructive criticism that I hope you don't mind: the lightsaber. The hilt looks great, but the blade is very... well, it looks like a prop. Unless you stylized your post work to specifically show it like that, the blade looks like it is made of three or four planes all intersecting each other at the center. It's usually given away where the blade meets the hilt and you see that star shape coming from the blade. I don't remember seeing a lot of lightsabers in your renders. Have you ever considered doing the blades in post work?

I did notice what you're talking about, but didn't really think it was that awful looking. Β I've have done lightsaber blades in post work before, but came up with this idea on my own before finding out that it was a common practice. I actually got the idea from playing SWTOR. I noticed how they made their lightsaber blades and thought "I can do that". I have since then found the lightsaber which i'm currently using, i just hide the hilt and use Fern's custom hilt. I really like not having to make them in post work. Does that make me lazy? I suppose I could fix the end in post work. I never really thought much about it though. In your opinion, do you think that would be acceptable? As always, I really value your insights, and Thank you very much for the compliments! ^^

It's not a bad thing. It's not even a lazy thing. It's a preference thing. Some people really prefer to have the blade as a prop in the scene. Others want it all to be in post work. I personally have the white core of the blade as a prop in the scenes and do the colored glow in post.
The method you've used us very commonly seen in games. It's a good, low-poly approach to the lightsaber and to the laymen eye it looks just fine. There are some limitations as to how much of an angle the blade can be in perspective to the POV, but otherwise it's fine. I'm not going to tell you what to do or what's acceptable because my opinion there doesn't matter. It's artistic preference. Obviously, I choose a different route. That doesn't make either one of us wrong or right.

I've discussed most of this in a previous reply, so I'll skip most of it. I have noticed that the multi-planar blade doesn't work for close-ups or shots where the blade is coming out of the screen at you. So yeah for a more dramatic scene like that,Β I wouldΒ most definitelyΒ seek an alternative.

There are pros and cons to any pursuit of lightsaber art I suppose. If you need any help or tips on lightsaber blades, blaster bolts, et cetera, just send me a note. I'm happy to help and share what I've learned.

In-game, I actually used a white dye module to customize my gear at first. Everything was entirely white. I later changed to the black and blue theme that she currently wears. It might be interesting to revisit the white theme in a few renders. I'll have to remember to try and make a few with all white when I get the chance.
