Because I will never be able to beat this! Might as well go out with a bang. That's how awesome I think it is! (I'm kidding. Not quitting.)
Hey guys, I want you to meet 's Lexyla... She's my new desktop background. That's how epic I think this is.
I generally think girls are icky but I find Lexyla here hot. That's how hot I think this is.
*Goes on ranting* Tell tale sign of a not-so-great artist: They go on about a picture that a great artist wouldn't even care about. XD
I know, I know. I owe art but man, oh man. I'm really proud of this. I think it was because I warmed up by iScribbling with She-shat. Started at 8 at night and ended at 2! That's why I'm not in class because I overslept and so I finished off the picture.
Anyways, the lineart isn't that great but when I cover it with chiaroscuro, BAM! Like something outta a comic book, I think. Tried gradient shading with specks of color, and soft corners.
Had an idea of Lexyla with her threads, I think it actually came close to what I envisioned. Hope you like ~Knifeshadow ! You're always such a sweet person and always wishing everyone safety and giving them love, and there aren't a lot out there who would do that. Keep it up.
If I would ever need you guys the most, it would be here. please because if you don't, I'll get a big head and I'll fawn over this and won't get anything done. Make me hate it, basically.

Rather epic picture. I can't say anything that everyone else hasn't already said to describe it. Especially like the hands positioning.

OK, now I've been alerted to critique this by *devCRIT , so let's-a go!
First of all, may I say that the colouring is great, and the shading is also really good. The shading across Lexyla's face gives her a dark edge, which could hint at her character. The trouble is that Lexyla's shoulder is too big in comparison to her arm, which makes it look unnatural. This could easily be rectified by making the shoulder slightly less bulbous-looking.
Now let's move on. The background is well-done, with a lovely gradient and the way the bottom is misted makes Lexyla look like she's standing in fog. The only trouble is that the top part of the background is too closely matched with Lexyla's hair colour, which means it makes her head appear to blend in with the background. This can be rectified either by colouring Lexyla's hair in a lighter colour or making the background slightly paler and more muted.
Moving on now! Let's now look at Lexyla's stance. It is really well drawn, and it looks as if either she is about to cast a magic spell, or (judging by the wisps around her hands) she has already cast one. The clothibng conforms to her body well, and the rumples and stretches suggest the presence of a wind source, as well as the positioning of her hair. There's no definite points of improvement here, so that's good.

The red does kind of throw it off a little, but I love how you threw that in! She always ends up wearing something red, and it just seemed to tie in a lot of things for me. As for other problems, THERE ARE NO MORE D<, it's all amazing. I love your style so much and for the sake of not making this comment any longer I will stop my ranting of how much I love this. Hee. I was wondering when you would see it, and sorry. I couldn't think of a title and that was the first thing that I thought about when looking at the picture. Don't worry. It'll take a lot to get me to quit drawing, and I got the outfit from your recent picture, I think, except I forgot her necklace and I'm kicking myself over here for it. I'm glad you like it though.

what can i say? each time you submit something you certainly get better and better, the shading here is incredible! and also the hands and the pose, and the expression they form together.
There's only a small thing that bothers me about the bust. It seems to be a little down for me, but everything else turned out just fine, the face is marvelous, all the shading that show how muscles fit in!
I soooo envy you! this one has a lot of feeling

I think you did a fantastic job with the proportions, shading and overall light and shadow. You've improved light-years in the past six months alone! The only critique I really have is that your color harmonies are a little off.
I like the blue background and (for once) I'm digging the purple, but that red just throws it all off. The blue streak in her hair, the background and the pants are all fairly cool hues (though the pants lean towards warm a little) but the red is just too warm for my liking. I can understand if that's her character's color, but if that's the case then tone the saturation down on it- a lot. And if possible, just change it completely.
Also, do you know what that font is? That, my dear, dear friend, is PAPYRUS and it should be BANNED for overuse. I. Hate. That. Font. CHANGE IT.

lol. Thanks. I thought I was being slick by doing analogous colors but... The red was weird. I had to tone the shadows a warmer hue while the pant's shadow stayed cool. Don't know if it's noticeable. I'll tone it down next time. Hee. Papyrus was her character's font and so I thought it suited. I'm sorry it's not bold like Impact. XP We all know how you like them thick letters.

I could see the shadows and they are very well done. Your choices of analogus colors are good, it's just that one shade of red could stand out less.
And it's not that Papyrus is thin, it's that it's EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE.
It's now considered a "design no-no" and is quickly going the way of Comic Sans.
