Description IMPORTANT: This theme is no longer under development by myself. Get this fav.me/d6nnkk8 instead

THIS IS ONLY FOR 3.6

Hello,

eOS is a GNOME Shell theme that gives your GNOME desktop an 'Elementary' feel.

I ported a lot of features from DanRabbit's mockups and actual eOS parts, like: Plank, Pantheon Shell, Wing Panel... My goal is to make the most accurate Elementary theme.

Known Bugs

- None. But I would appreciate it if actual elementary users compared this theme and their eOS to see if something is off. I want to have a 1:1 clone.

Changelog

10/10/2011: 1.2b
20/10/2011: 1.2b2
27/01/2012: 1.2
08/02/2012: 1.2.1
30/05/2012: 1.4
27/11/2012: 1.6

- Fixed for GNOME Shell 3.6.

This depends on: Droid Sans and Open Sans(light).

Ubuntu users can install this and/or a previous version from the Noobslab PPA(not officially supported by myself):

I love the theme, it is clean and crisp. It follows a lot of the elementary theme and mockups, but I think the switches could use some work. Just a thought. Happy theming

I would like to know the same thing as ~UUser . what settings to use to get that in other themes? Is it in the summary or notification styles? I love that wingpanel at the bottom since I use cairo-dock it would be perfect in a theme I'm tweaking. By the way awesome theme

0rAX0 In reply to CraazyT [2011-12-16 13:11:26 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is possible! Just play with #summary-mode

I found another fix for red text bugs.
Open /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/native-window-placement@gnome-shell-extensions.gnome.org/stylesheet.css with whatever text editor you want.
Now find the line that says: "color: red;" without quotes and delete it.

I've been using your theme since i installed gnome 3. I love it. But just a question... is there any way i can change that blue color when clicking the Activity button or icons on the panel? It's not a big issue, just asking if that's customizable from the css file or something. I'd like to try a different color to match the orange folders for instance.
Anyway, congrats on making the best theme so far

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

0rAX0 In reply to 1nstante [2011-11-29 08:48:48 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.

Yes, it is customizable. You need to open popup-menu.css and panel.css, search for that color(#3D95E7) and change it to something else.

Hi, realy nice theme, but the menubar (File, Edit,..) shows behind that bar above. Probably it's bug. I just don't want it there. [link] Any idea?

plaidcounty In reply to Chockino [2011-11-12 15:49:43 +0000 UTC]

You're using Ubuntu, right? If you open up Gnome Tweak Tool, go to "desktop" and turn off "Have file manager handle the desktop" you won't have that problem any more.

red text problems affect to me [link]

0rAX0 In reply to dreamnymph [2011-10-20 14:53:17 +0000 UTC]

Why are they on the top?!
Can you disable extensions(except the user theme) and restart GNOME Shell and see?

I'm still trying to figure out the problem, it doesn't happen to me. You can use the .css file at the bottom of the description.

dreamnymph In reply to 0rAX0 [2011-10-21 13:09:18 +0000 UTC]

A temporary fix for red-text bugs
- Delete gnome-shell.css file inside the theme's folder.
- Open a terminal and cd to 'eOS' directory.
- Do a 'cat *.css > gnome-shell.css'
- remove every single .css file except the new gnome-shell.css.
- Refresh.

work for me

therealjonathan In reply to 0rAX0 [2011-11-25 13:45:12 +0000 UTC]

The red text bug is caused by the Native Window Placement extension, but there's a way to fix it without disabling the extension or combining all the CSS files into one.

0rAX0 In reply to therealjonathan [2011-11-25 13:56:34 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I found the problem earlier this month. Although, I only updated 'Nord' with the tip. Thank you anyway.

therealjonathan In reply to 0rAX0 [2011-11-25 15:29:07 +0000 UTC]

There's another comment (by me, don't know if you saw it) on how to get the Native Window Placement extension without the red text.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

0rAX0 In reply to therealjonathan [2011-11-25 16:02:16 +0000 UTC]

Yep. I've seen it. The reason why I didn't want to write about that method is a) Not everyone will know how to do it(correctly, 100% of the time). b) Because of a bug (fixed in 3.3) that GS is loading some extensions even if they are disabled. c) That extension is buggy anyway.

So even if you remove the property and disable the extension, it's probably gonna break something else.

I don't know why but in top panel behind the labels "Activities" and the application which I'm using I see the menu bar "FIle, Edit, View.." [link]
...how can I fix it?

I guess you should disable 'Nautilus handles desktop' from GNOME Tweak Tool.

Looks nice
Bugs I found:
-overview-window-tooltips have red text (don't think this is intentional)
-apps-overview is spaced out a lot, making very bad use of space on my 1024x768 screen
-the status-drop-menu is white with white text

Other than that it's really nice, I think

0rAX0 In reply to theRealPadster [2011-10-10 16:01:10 +0000 UTC]

Thank you.

Red text! I don't see any! screenie please?
Other than that, fix will be released!
