The tree itself took me several days to finish, including setup in Apo, rendering, and post-processing. The little ornaments are scaled-down images of other fractals, some of which are new, and some of which I made for other purposes. Yes, if you count the time I spent on all of those, it'd come to quite a lot.

Yep... the tree is one big fractal, rendered several times and merged together with a lot of post-processing. The ornaments are small re-renderings of other fractals, some of which have appeared in my earlier images. The background is from some wallpaper that I created previously, with extensive tweaking.

I've been working on the tree for DAYS... not including the time I spent previously making all the little fractals to go on it.
is holding a Seasons contest, and I had already planned to enter this image.
After I finished decorating the tree, I found out that is also holding a contest to decorate a pre-made tree fractal. So if I have time, I'll decorate the tree in a separate entry for the other contest.
