Description
The USS Hood reaches the USS Horizon in time before the ships warpcore breaches transporting personnel. A shuttle moves to dock gathering crew and scientific equipment before the explosion. The Horizon was over 90 years old and was delegated to surveying Alpha Quadrant nebulae and other phenomenon before her fatal skirmish with the Maquis.(This story is not canon)

The "USS Horizon" is a pretty old ship indeed . . . I guess Starfleet had a budget cut.
