This has defintly been done in pencil I can see subtle slight differences that wold not be in a photo.

Like his eye slightly looks different, and the sweater catchs my eye.
I can not put my finger on it but I see something that tells me that this is a drawing and not a photo.

Awesome job this shows everyone that though they may beileve that it is old school or traditional but it man just look at it it is awesome.

To any doubters: just think about this realistically. If the image in real life is 15" x 22", that's pretty damn big. That's almost 2 feet tall. If he photographs it and then has to shrink it down to fit on your computer screen, obviously some of the pencil detail will be lost, making it look more like a photo. This guy is a master, he's not drawing on computer or notebook paper. He's using high quality materials on a large work surface.

This is not a photograph. It's a drawing. Look at the place where his collar, neck and the background come together. At that place you can see that it is a drawing and not a photograph.

It's even an excellent photograph of the artwork, so he gets two thumbs up from me.

Amazing work.

That's an excellent drawing. I can understand that sometimes you have to take a photograph of a picture that's too big for a scanner *glares at people claiming it's an actual photograph of the man* .... I had to do the same thing when I wanted to post a still life I did for a school exhibition. I love the very subtle texture you have on his sweater.... and the wrinkles on his face (!!!) This is very well done. Incredible work!

Think about this for two seconds, would you?
The drawing is larger than a scanner... so what tool would an artist use to get a digital representation of something that is on tangible media?
