Description
Face study-Steve ParkhurstPencil on Strathmore 500 cold press illustration board
22β x 22β
Once in a while the best laid plans go off track. The background the very thing that inspired this drawing took over -it slowly overshadowed the portrait. There is enough power in this face, a contemplative man in his middle age, just like myself. Thanks Steve for sitting for this and for having the interesting features to give drama to this study. I worked about 30 hours on the background which was on the left but after making the hard decision to cut it off, it made sense.
Thank you all for you questions and comments

This is so inspiring. Was this scanned or did you used a camera? If camera, how do you position it to give it the right angle?

Armin, you know that I am most interested as well once you decided to make it available. Either as a full resolution version or as a print.
