Description Shattered I

8” x 8” pencil on hot press board.

This is a small pencil drawing of a smashed light bulb. Set up as a still life with low lighting and a low view (worm eye) this was a very interesting drawing to execute. This is only the first part of a diptych type presentation. Thank you

this is what 50 years dedication and experience gets you.....totally amazing stuff! before reading the thread above, i swore that they couldnt be real drawings, im still taken aback when i look at them. how long does it take you to do a drawing like that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

1nimra In reply to csick02 [2005-03-03 17:01:23 +0000 UTC]

They are quite small but still they take about 20 hours. Shit yes, you learn a lot in 50 years, if figure when I am 100 I can relax and take up golf or bowling.

Thanks

1st rate. truly, this is the kind of art i can respect cuz' you did it all on your own, that is, a computer didn't do it for you...

i take it you are a big fan of photorealism?
you should be, you're damn good

pedrocastro [2005-02-14 16:36:24 +0000 UTC]

Sorry but I don't believe you actually draw this... I think it's a manipulated shot. Combining filters in PS I can have a draw too, even realisic than this one.
You should be ashamed.

Actually I don’t really exist at all, I am a virus who is fucking with peoples head, its funny though the real smart people think its an actual drawing but the lame, morons out there think it’s a fake, go figure…you can read right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pedrocastro In reply to 1nimra [2005-02-14 20:27:51 +0000 UTC]

Sorry but I still don't believe you draw all this deviations.
They didn't even look like they were sketched and scanned after.

So how can I be sure that you do that just based in what you write?!
I've seen many smart guys that does this thing in PS and say they draw it.

I think that the people that don't know how to do that in graphic programs, or don't know they can do that, believes in whatever people writes. And people who knows Photoshop or other progs, just know this could be easily done.

Sorry, it's just hard to believe, it's so realistic to be drawn in pencil, all that details, and not even a mark of a erased part or something that always appear after you scan.

OK all kidding aside, I don’t usually respond to this kind of stuff, but here it goes.

First I am 50 years old, old enough to get good and old enough not to play games. I am a director of an art school, the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art in Midland MI. I have been teaching drawing for 25 years including the American Academy of Art in Chicago. I have had lots of exhibitions, including winning two national drawing shows in the last to years, links to follow.

Now they had the original work hanging in the galleries so I think they can tell the difference between real and photoshoped

Why am I responding to a flame? Just found I have some time to kill at work.

If you still don’t believe me, then I cant help

Armin

That's nice, thx for the explanation, and yes, I believe you now.
It's just that nowadays people just like to show themselves and think they can fool you.

I apologize to you for all the things I said and I'm jawdroped by your draws, they're amazingly realistic, congratulations

Sorry for anything again
