I absolutely love the concept of this photo.
The two things that caught my attraction were
1. the simplicity. the execution is simple yet holds quite a bit of power within it.
2. the anonymity. I liked that I can't tell who the soldier is, it could be my brother, your best friend, whomever. I think in a way it adds some sort of familiarity for everyone.
The main suggestion I have when I look at this is if you could have moved him into the image a little, so there we a bit of space between his right leg and the edge. Or maybe a square crop so the soldier takes up half the image and flags the other half.

Thank you very much. I actually tried to get the shot you described, but there were two issues; the first a girl in a bunny costume was taunting the solider and you could see her costume and the other he covered too many of the flags. It was taken in Boston Common, people planted a flag for each soldier who has past in battle from the Revolutionary War to present who were from MA.
