This was created for an online magazine, Play.d
I've been doing illustrations for them and this month they asked for a Dreamcast cover! Being a big fan of all Dreamcast and Sega, I loved every second of it.
Seeing the final picture I wish I did a few things differently such as the sizes of the background characters (Ryu is way too small) but happy with the outcome.

Ah, but there is... just not in this picture. I did this as a 2-part image. The first part was the full set shown here, and the 2nd part had Samba de Amigo and one of the cabbies from Crazy taxi.
Also, why do you sound so surprised that your Dreamcast still works? I've got a Master System that still works fine somewhere!

Haha to this day the most recent gaming system I own is Dreamcast. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street fighter 3rd Strike for the win. Awesome stuff man.

The characters are drawn well--you can easily tell who they are, but you've put your own spin on them. You also did a nice job on the coloring. But what really makes this piece is the composition.
The Dreamcast is the last system with which I truly had fun, and the last system I actually cared about. When they stopped making it, it was like the end of an era. I have a soft spot in my heart for many of the characters associated with it, even though many of them didn't last beyond one or two games.
One character that you omitted, but I personally would have liked to have seen, is Seaman.

Yeah, I left out a few good ones such as something from Crazy Taxi on purpose as they were going to be follow up illustrations for the Magazine. As for Seaman... well, my excuse for leaving that one out is because we never got it over here in Europe

i saw this in 4chan a while back... hehe..
the DC is my fave console... ever. really. haha.
only gripe is that, at least one or two more sega games should have been there, games like Skies of Arcadia and also Sega Rally or Crazy Taxi, those were one of the games which really defined the Dreamcast.. imho... but hey.. any form of DC tribute is a winner

There were plenty! A lot of dreamcast-only titles too.
The big one was Street Fighter 3 (as you avatar, i see!), both 'double impact' (the first two) and 3rd Strike.
And as a list, seeing as they're all beside me here:
Capcom vs SNK (1, pro & 2)
Marvel vs Capcom (1 & 2)
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Fighter 3 (double impact & 3rd Strike)

The Dreamcast remains one of the greatest systems ever. Bar none. It's a pity it was never given a real chance to flourish here in the States. Godspeed, Dreamcast.

I still play my DC regularly and although there's quite a few games that I would like to see represented (Skies of Arcadia, Resident Evil CV, Dead or Alive 2, Crazy Taxi, Grandia 2, Bangai-O, Ready 2 Rumble, Samba De Amigo, Virtua tennis, Quake 3: Arena, Project Justice, etc), this is still a damn fine piece of work.

I agree, there's lots that didn't make it into it. As this was done for a magazine it's coming in 2 parts. I'm saving some of them for the next issue
I also tried to keep them to Dreamcast only games, so Dead or Alive 2, Quake and so on couldn't really go on.
