This was created for an online magazine, Play.d
I've been doing illustrations for them and this month they asked for a Dreamcast cover! Being a big fan of all Dreamcast and Sega, I loved every second of it.
Seeing the final picture I wish I did a few things differently such as the sizes of the background characters (Ryu is way too small) but happy with the outcome.

Immediately upon looking at this, I was pretty sure I could name at least half the characters and their games. I'm a slight Dreamcast junkie so it was great to stumble across this.
As for any commentary that would help improve what you've got here, I've got next to none. Maybe Ryu's eyes could look like they're squinting a little less but that's just personal preference really. Great job.

I always liked the fact that you could play Virtua Tennis with the fishing rod to act as the racket. Slightly familiar to some other technology that was built... seven years after the Dreamcast!

...I think it's definitely the most overlooked system. It was the right product at the wrong time. Poor Sega... I hate Microsoft! *kicks monopolistic conglomerates in the ass* DX Bastards...

Gasp! Space Channel 5 was excellent. It was the biggest guilty pleasure - it was so camp! The fact that it was so ridiculous was what made it great!

Truely the most unappreciated system ever, and I love the fact you put Ulala and Ryo in there. Although, why no Vyse (Skies of Arcadia) and Samba (Samba de Amigo)? They were big parts of why the DreamCast ruled.

Samba de Amigo was a separate image for the commission (of which can be found here ) but I have no excuse for Skies of Arcadia. I never played it myself, though I'm starting to think I should of! Maybe one to fish out on eBay one day!

I see. Don't worry I understand why Skies of Arcadia isn't in there (you stated you never played it, so I understand). It is a great RPG that I definitely recommend checking out, and it's from the same people who made Phantasy Star. Also, I forgot to tell you that I thought this was a great picture (I like the lineart and coloring a lot).

Chu Chu Rocket was probably, and strangely, a highlight of the Dreamcast for me. Not only because it was online, but because it was free! Best things in life really are free!

Yeah, that's Ryo in the middle. I personally felt that Shenmue was the biggest game for the DC, so he gets pride of place!

I love the dreamcast. mine over heated due to over use though. this picture is like all awesome and stuff. I like how you drew sonic and shadow they look like old school style mixed with the new style.

An excellent presentation for not only a memorable console of it's time but also the phenomenal artistic potentails of which you have presented here. The colourful collection of characters in a group presentation works excellently and the fine expression of detail of each individual character is well presented to the full limit of your creativity. The colour itself is what truly makes this piece admirable as it really presents the piece with a grand scale of energy and brings back fond memories of the console itself.
You have relly presented a great display of the potentials and phenomenal skill you have for digital artwork, keep it up.

I never played Techromancer myself. Was kind of interested, but just never got around to trying it out...
