yes ofcourse. that boxx one is pretty costly man, but what about dell m90, how's the performance and all? here in INDIA i bet very few will go for such a high end system like boxx or even dell.
may be one person in a whole city. here people still ask that why we need, 1 GB of RAM, and such a high end system. really my friend is looking for dell m90, but we r facing tough time finding the dealer. they have one office in india and its in another city.
actually situation here is very different dear!

too bad
yes the boxx one is very, very costly but the price will go down in a few years i hope.

look here for a benchmark (at the bottom of the page) for the dell M90:

and here:

i hear that the dell m90 is very good for the price

3D studio !!!

3dchris89 In reply to Maidentroop [2006-04-09 11:28:03 +0000 UTC]

ah cool

first you need to download a plugin like Glu3d
if you have that plugin, install it (duh) then start 3dsmax and:
choose glu3d from the create dropdownlist
click "glu3d" and place it in your scene
click the emitter ( small circle with a line coming out of it) and go to the modifier panel
set your settings i used allot of particles and let them stick together
then click the big "glu3d" text in your viewport, there you can set mesh settings and stuff
click "calculate" and the particles will begin flowing
if you want them to react on an object (like bounce and stay on it) then you have to add them as a collision object:
click the glu3d text in the viewport, scroll down in the modifier panel
open the "collision" tab
open de collision editor (or something )
select the objects you want it to react with, and click "add highlighted"
click calculate

good luck

haha i dont mind
in the create panel (the tab with the mouse pointer and the small star) there's a dropdownlist, in that list should be an option called "glu 3d"
thats where al the glu 3d things are
