and there it is, a new WIP of the mechit took a while, but i added some stuff
also some filling for his chest and back, hope you like it
next step is making a scene, rendering it, and then painting it in photoshop

u should rig it up.. if you use maya its easy. since its a robot just assign geometry to the bones and you are good to go. you can even drop a IK rig in.
i can probably do it... for free... as long as i get to animate with it as well...

ah yes, thanks for the tip it should work in 3dsmax as well.
i was thinking of assigning bones to the rigid parts, and use LootAt constraints for the pistons (small trick to get them to stay inside each other)
i'll think about doing a collab i hope it's easy to go cross-platform

Don't get me wrong dude, that is the most amazing thing I've seen on a 3d dev. so far, but don't you think the legs would be way too easy to damage with all the critical components just out in the open?

yes you are completely right, i'm going to add some armor over it just not sure wich kind of armor cause i do want to see some of the insides in the final piece

Yeah, try paneled armor, like, raised, so if you turn the image around, you can see under it
