It was a 50/50 episode for me; Serena's mother wasn't in there a lot so it wasn't about her gaining respect
Mind you there wasn't much of what it was about; just Serena telling Ash how they met the one time, Ash entering a Rhyhorn race and Serena agreeing to travel with them
Bonnie's glad though ;3

It would've been in the 40s if i wanted to be mean (and today was a day i seriously needed a win :/ but i restrained, as this memory thing is toning down, so hopefully we can get to some platonic character development and see Serena come into her own)

Not true, Serena's intention was always to find Ash, but even then Sakura the Kimono Sister also proposed to join the group, she decided against it at the end of the episode

According to Bonnie, in the Japanese dub anyway, Clemont is very helpless on his own and is trying to find a girl for Clemont. But considering the fact that Clemont is only like.... in his early teens, that's pretty weird.

I justify it by assuming Satoshi has been aging with very little maturation gradually over the course of the show. He starts at 10 years old and it goes something like this.
Year one: Kanto+Orange Islands
Year two: Johto (This one seemed to drag on for an eternity so it fits.)
Year three: Hoenn+ Battle Frontier
That puts him at 13 years old when he encounters Hikari and could mean he's up to 15 years old at the start of Kalos. (Possibly 16 if he took any significant breaks between any regions, something I'd almost expect to have happened between Johto and Hoenn)
I'd say the art style seems to support an estimated age in the neighborhood of 15 years old for Satoshi/Serena/Citron in the XY anime.

Another way to view it (based on a logical assumption derived from the tournament nature of Anime Pokemon League) which I had forgotten to include in my previous post: Pokemon League tournaments are held only once per year, at the same time every year. (Likely not the exact same day, because the leagues want the fans watching at home on Pay Per View to not need to choose between overlapping leagues)
Seeing that Satoshi has participated in the League for each of the main regions, he would need to be at least 15 at the start of XY.
Final Note: according to the novel Satoshi began his journey at 10 years, 10 months of age, so I'm revising my assumption to 16 years old for the trio.

To be honest I am kinda becoming a SerenaxAsh shipper, but as long as Pearlshipping is gone, I don't care.
During DP, I keep thinking that Ash was being romantically paired with Dawn with all the friggin Pearl posters and advertising that showed them both only. Seriously that Dominos Pearl Commercial was a pure nightmare at the time. Now that Pearl is gone, I can finally see Ash for whom he his now. Not someone who only loves a blue haired rookie, but nothing but an oblivious idiot who wants to catch anything in sight and lose and become a drama queen about it for 2 to 3 episodes and etc.
So'm hear to see the closest translations to see Ash's stupidity to wither somewat rage about it or laugh seeing others rage about it.
Please dont mind that im a somewhat SerenaxAsh
