this was really a stupid reasonat least in BW rivalries had good reason, heck even if it was a grudge it was by good reason such as Georgia wanting to beat Iris when she actually got a Dragon Type or Burgundy wanting to win a Rematch to her gym battle
but this is just silly
I'm not saying it as an Anti-Serena thing, it's an Anti-Writers thing
Serena has good potential, especially since she doesn't know what path she wants to take, but the writers are doing so little with her
basically all she does is cook sweets, tense her hands, show off things with her PDA and blushes at the mention of Ash (which is double bad on the writers' part)
It's 25 episodes in an she still only has one Pokémon
Clemont has caught as many Pokémon as Ash right now (which i'm not complaining cos Clembo's awesome ;3 )
but seriously, even Dawn had more development than this, give the girl some independence and personality jeez ¬_¬

Honestly serena is one character that needs alot of pity o.o she doesnt even have an identity on the show. I can think and chooose a better characters to travel with ash. All i see is an appearance girl. I am having hard time figuring what is the point in having her. Only gurl who is not have any conflict emotions when seeing both of her friends battling. Come... on i thought Clementie was her friend.....the lab must of did alot of training for her pokefox to have a decent amount of power. She actually made Pokemon boring...i couldn't even feel emotional for a pokemon movie......
The rival thing needs to be rewritten o.o.....so sad....

I can't say for Dialogue, but all Serena really does is blush when she's confronted about her crush on Ash, I don't mind it it's more the gloating from Amourshippers I don't like because Ash remains his oblivious self and some treat every moment they stand next to each other as a hint
Tomorrow's episode involves a formal dance which kinda got people in a twist because prior previews showed her Dancing with Clemont but teaming with Ash in a multi-battle against James and Miette, the more recent preview does show blushing from Serena likely being confronted/teased by Miette again so it's safe to say she's still crushing on him
I guess it's not as bad as it could be, she isn't really clingy and I don't think she's been jealous since this episode, it just seems to be more of a rare 'for the sake of it' thing to me like the 'Date' Episode was and I'd rather they just dropped it and allowed Serena to grow as her own person rather have her crush on Ash be a main definition of her character

So she bagged on your Poké Puffs saying that they were only slightly good compared to yours, how long has she been making them compared to you? Who has more experience? I don't know, but I feel that since she has an evolved Pokémon (one that requires a trade, mind you), that she has been doing this for longer. Of course, I may be wrong.

I agree! The rivalry was so dumb! All Millefeui did was get people to like her Poke puffs. They didn't even acknowledge that MAYBE Serena was in the wrong, so I was rooting for Millefeui the whole time. Also Citro (Clemont) couldn't even so much as LOOK at her without Serena throwing a fit.

Millefeui was not a mean person at all, so this was literally Serena being a bitch to her for no reason at all. And Dawn vs Ursula and Iris vs Georgia were way more fun, too.

It's not good writing at all - it's "safe" writing. Manufactured drivel. BW wasn't always best at writing either, but the direction had heart and kept it an enjoyable show to watch. I agree completely.

It IS manufactured drivel! And it's not like it's going back to its roots, either, it's just the AG/D&P stuff with Amourshipping in place of contests. Amourshipping is not even new, since they did it with Misty, only her crush did not define her. Plus the pacing was good, so it didn't waste your time - anyone who says BW has too much filler has NOT watched D&P.

It's worse than DP which was worse than AG. Yes, the pace for the Unova saga of BW was pretty much perfect. As for DP, it's problem wasn't too much filler - that was Johto. It's problem was too much "non-filler" story with too much recurring plot elements and characters that padded out the series so that it moved at a snail's pace.

BW did have perfect pacing. Da! could have messed it up but it was its own arc and not stuck between the actual regional episodes, so it was still okay by itself. There were long gap once in a while, but they did something with them. All of the "non-fillers" in D&P seemed like fillers to me, nothing really came out of them - for example, "A Homemade Strategy" - I forgot the English dub name but it's the one where Lucia (Dawn) fights her mom.

Yeah, Da! was a 20 episode diversion until XY came out, and it was deliberately designed so that you could skip the episodes between it's first one and it's nineteenth one and miss nothing except for Alexa's debut. The only gap was between Castelia and Nimbasa, and they did a lot of good episodes there. And yes, DP still had a bunch of episodes that were ultimately filler no matter how hard they tried to make them seem otherwise.

Not only is BW better paced but it does its stuff better too. We haven't had this good pacing since the first season.
All of the mini-arcs D&P had did NOT change that.
Yet people insist "It's not all filler!" and then turn around and talk about BW. I can tell they didn't watch D&P or they wouldn't say it's not all filler.

Yeah, Kanto and Unova are my only favorites in the anime, though the Orange Islands and Battle Frontier were okay. The rest sucks.
They DID watch DP: they just have a distorted view of it because they don't want to see it for what it really was.
