I mean they could establish a link with Trevor like he's her cousin and have like a Misty episode where Ash looks back on the time they had together and then decides to call her and catch up, stating how good it is to talk to her, that he misses her and maybe one day they can travel another region again
Then a side story of her getting Togetic back and maybe a Milotic

I can already see Jigglypuff singing while two Dragonite bathe her in Dragon Rage. And then you find out that she's actually on stage, the Dragonites are the pyrotechnics, and she's opening for Dethklok.....ALL FEAR JIGGLYPUFF.

Personally i planned a Side Story Episode where Trip went to Kanto expecting to easily get a starter from Oak
but his badmouthing of Kanto people around Misty, Tracey, Oak and Delia (Misty was having a look at Ash's new Pokémon with Delia) puts him in trouble and Oak even refuses to give him a starter, to prove his worth, Oak offers a wager, a battle; if Trip wins, he'll be given all three starters, but if he loses he gets none
Despite volunteers, Oak chooses Delia to battle Trip, using loaned Pokémon from Misty, Tracey and Ash and Gary's Pokémon in the lab
6 v 6 battle (Delia uses Mimey, Ash's Bulbasaur, Gary's Electrivire, Misty's Milotic, Oak's Rotom and Tracey's Scyther against Trip's Serperior, Jellicent, Chandelure, Conkeldurr, Vanilluxe and Unfezant)
Delia wins by a landslide, not losing with any of her Pokemon and Trip admits defeat, changing his views on Kanto and claiming that Ash was right about there being strong trainers here. Before he leaves though, Oak praises Trip's newfound sense of humility and allows him to choose a Starter. Impressed with the strength of Ash's Bulbasaur, Trip chooses his own Bulbasaur to train, beginning his new journey in Kanto
but what're the odds of my ideas being used in the anime? It's not like i could do as good a job as the writers of today -_-
