I never know what category to put pictures like these in......or what to call them.

Id have a 'just because' category and then you could put in pictures just because they are pretty or just because I felt like taking it,I'm not a fan of the idea that every picture 'has' to have a meaning.
Posting to miscellaneous feels a bit cheap though like Im posting into my scraps.
Maybe a 'experimental' category would work well for shots like these.

WOW! Amazing timing for something like this. The black background helps to point out the match, and the fire, of courseβ¦ but thatβs a given. I adore the use of shadows! And the smoke/flame movement adds a hint of mystery. Very well done.

I can see it looks like a conceptual shot but I can't come up with any concept to fit it.Ive posted another smoke shot recently into conceptual though.
I wish DA would add a 'just because' category for pictures that have no meaning,'miscellaneous' always seems a bit like dumping a picture in scraps.

It's interesting how the color of the smoke changed as it progressed

Yeah it's because the right hand side is mostly lit by a lamp whereas the left is natural light from a window.I tweaked the blue a little aswell to make it more prominent.
