SPEEDPAINTING WILL KILL ME ONE DAY!So yeah here it is my one hour speedpaint for One Hour Sonic and my god I really tried to do the 45 minute challenge where I draw three sketches and include two characters and a background but alas I didn't get to do those two parts only because I realised I'm an indecisive duck and I'm not use to painting that I can efficiently paint that fast
But yes here it is and also my first sonic fanart of the year, and it doesn't even include sonic at all, I hope you like it, I'm going to attempt to do more of these in the future.

Okay, this is my very first critique. Here we go.
To start off, I would like to say that you have done a lovely job with this piece. For having a limit of just one hour, it came out nice, and so did the angles of the heads, which is something I seem to have an issue with. However, I have to say that there are a few things about this piece that bugs me.
One thing would be the background. It appears to be that they are in space, which is totally fine. But when you look down, there is a brown lighting. That's a bit odd since I can't really tell where it is coming from. The lightning effects are great, although I feel that you should've put smaller sparks or maybe a glowish outline along the sides to emphasize the power of it. And what are those red dashes near Knuckles? I hope those are some sort of a power or lines of movement-- because I am having difficulty trying to depict what it is.
Okay, enough with the negative-ness. Time for the praise, which I'm sure you'll appreciate the most.
I have to say-- you did do a very nice job with the facial expressions and overall colors of this piece. The shading looks spot-on according to the light source, which appears to be coming from the right side of the image. Details-- you nailed 'em! Gloves-- you got 'em down! Very nice job.

Kinda honoured you made this your first crit XD and it was a good one, lot of the factors you mentioned are the result of the speed and indesiciveness on my part of the piece, it was originally going to have a proper background, but then I just went with the good ol approach of clouds in the bg, the red strip was supposed to be like those effects knuckles has in the games except more streamlined, though I did those at the very last moment, so they're really messy as I was panicking at that point
But still I'm totally going to take this crit on board especially the bg one, could have done better within the one hour limit I had.

Everything is perfect. Just add an outline on Shadow and Knuckles. Add a little bit more of shade. What I like about this drawing is the fact that Knuckles and Shadow are featured together - this is a team/combination that I rarely see in the Sonic/DA Community! Awesome work on showing some pretty darn cool action poses from each of them. The 'lined' strike force is also a neat touch. Well done.

I know, it's odd they don't pair these two up more in images, especially considering that they basically fill the same role of rivals to sonic. Once enemies now friends sorta thing ya know.

For your first OHS Entry, I do love how this looks. From a far you can see Shadow casting his Chaos Spear, whereas Knuckles is ready to give out some punches. Not to mention how I love how Shadow's expression is here as he goes into the dark almost

Knuckles is pretty much stuck guarding the Master Emerald, and with the tone of the games getting lighter, there's not much opportunity for Shadow to show up. A pity, really...
