Ok, since people seem to like the way I use colour pencils so much here goes a little tutorial!
Just as I promised!
I hope it is helpful! ^^PLEASE READ:
- IF YOU EVER RESORT TO THIS TUTORIAL OR USE TIPS FROM IT LET ME KNOW! ^^ I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE RESULTS!
- Sorry for the poor quality of the photos...
- This is just a SUGGESTION! I don't really know how to use pencils properly: this is just merely stuff I've learned from my own personal experience using this medium and I'm completely self-taught!

i did the guy's hair exactly as i did the gilr's only using red and brown tones

Cool. I've been trying to teach myself to use color pencils. My problem is you can see the strokes. So kindergarten! I'm going to try your soft layering technique next time.

the trick is to do very soft strokes, and layer them

lol this is a lame question.. but do you color with a circle motion, and if so, do you go in small circles or wide?

umm i use a type of paper that is made in portugal called "papel cavalinho" but i have no idea if it exists in other contries under a diferent name 
it's just a little more thick and not so glossy as printer paper.

O_o' oh.. cuz it's too smooth and doesn't pick up colors... >.< i'll use printer paper until i improve my technique cuz I don't have money for anything else and I don't want to waste paper...
