Description
THIS IS A RESORCE FOR THE MERRY MABARI RPG GROUPWhile lore firendly, no accuracy claims are made.
This is a map of Ferelden to be used as reference for locations in the Merry Mabari RPG group. Several locations had been added from the previous version including the ones that appear in Inquisition, Legend and the Tabletop RPG.
In a couple of cases there was an inconsistency in postion (Redcliffe, Crestwood and Storm Coast: in some Dragon Age Inquisition in-game resurces were located in a different place than the World Map), in those cases I preferred the World Map position sine it matched better the known shape of the areas.
Keep in mind that TMM is set in 9:29 Dragon, so:
- Haven (albeit on the map) was inhabited by the Disciples of Andraste and isolated, its location was not known until Genitivi got there searching for the Urn of Sacred Ashes.
- Honnleath has a statue (Shale) in the middle of the main square.
- Lothering was not destroyed yet, in fact was a thriving commercial node.
- Crestwood was what in DAI we see as "Old Crestwood" and the settlement on the hills was probably non-existent or considerably smaller.
- Jainen is a circle tower that appears in Dragon Age: Legends. Due to its isolated position is not well known as the bigger Kinloch Hold Circle, and may be best to consider it ruled by Isolationists and leave it alone.
- Due south of Ostagar there's Flemeth's hut. Don't go there: toad magic and Morrigan's stew awaits those who venture the area.
The graphic scale on the map was estimated comparing the actual distance, the times of travels in the Novels (mostly the Denerim-Orzammar trip in "the Calling) and the graphic scale on the official map. Since the scale sounded believable, we made it official.
THE SCALE REPORTED HERE IS NOT THE SAME OF THE OFFICIAL MAP, do not report it on the official material for distance comparisons.
For RP and GM reference, some travel speed estimates:
Assume travel on road with heavy combat and camping gear unless otherwise stated.
A light traveler, moving with just a pouch of food and a bedroll could move much faster.
On foot:
Summer - 40km/day,
Winter - 30km/day,
Rough terrain or thick snow - 20km/day
2 Horse Drawn Carriage/Cart:
Summer - 70km/day
Winter - 40km/day
Rough terrain - 10-20km/day*
Horseback riding:
Summer - 80km/day
Winter - 60km/day
Rough Terrain - 15-30km/day*
*Horses and horse carts are worse than humans at extremely bad terrain, for example a wet swamp, or unreliable bouldery terrain.
Examples:
On foot:
Denerim to Amaranthine would make for a ~2 day trip, with one night stay at a camp or tavern in the middle before reaching Amaranthine.
Denerim to Ostagar would be about a week of travel.
Note that these are only rough estimates of sustainable maximum speeds, and many different factors could alter actual travel time! :3

what do you mean with "full map"?

Uhm, I don't think so. The sole Ferelden took a week only for the lines, and though high resolution maps of thedas are available, "completing" the work would require too much time and it's honestly of little interest for me and the RP group: since the roleplay is based in Ferelden in 9:29 dragon and there's not much overlaying lore about it. For that I'd stick to the official material anyway, and I see no point on redoing the work for what interests me.
