The following link may provide some insight into why I chose "Tired of Love Uninspired" as the title for this piece. At approximately 1:29 the lyric occurs:
[link]
I was rather disappointed and depressed when a bill that would have legalized same-sex marriage in New Jersey was defeated in the state Senate. I wanted to do something that would blatantly convey how I felt about this by drawing two men with wedding bands while they are their honeymoon.
In short, time requirements forced me to make sacrifices leaving one nude male with a wedding band on who is tired of love uninspired.

Thank you very much for your eloquent critique, it's much appreciated.
What my Drawing I professor has been telling us (yes, "Drawing I" as in "for beginners") is that if we have a portion of the subject extending beyond our paper we invite the viewer to visualize and thus interact more with the piece.
But in my next pencil work the figure is completely in the frame from knees to head.
Thank you again.

Thank you. Unfortunately the concept was lacking; however, this aspect of my work I have begun to change for the better.

There is nothing more beautyful than a well defined male back... sounds kinda stupid, but its the truth! Great job on this one! And the intention that goes along with it makes it even better! Plus the values are great.
Though I agree with Zhiar, the left butt check looks strange...and the right arm is a little out of proportion, I think its the elbow...

Oh, I appreciate your many kind words.
In hindsight, I have realized to take liberties with my reference if it looks a little quirky. As for the elbow, some people like it, others find it odd. I struggle with it but in the future I will mind my elbows.

amazing... really looking kinda bronze and silver mixed and given just the right amount of noise.. the hair looks really cool almost or is altually golden/sun heavy light and i love the shades.
*just one little thing, man.. this is kinda odd to say xD, but left butt cheek looks like its going "inner" like a whole..
but otherwise ... fantastic my friend 5/5

Thank you very much
It's totally cool. I was having a hard time translating that butt cheek from the original pose.
I will be more aware of my butts in the future

Stone cold texture work. You picked up on the subtleties perfectly. Also your subject matter is a great one. I couldnt agree any more about how much politics abolishes gay rights as if it were something so volatile. Anyway beautiful job and I love it.

Well..I know it's a silly way to say it, but sometimes when I look at some works, no matter the content, I feel like on watching a variety show or something...after that I start looking at the real thing..
I know it sounds weird, though, so.. sorry if I made you feel uncofortable or something..
Anyway, awesome work

That is phenomenal! I've always loved the muscles of the back, and especially the shoulder region. I've tried in the past, but I never felt fully satisfied. Good job!

The shading is really nice,as always
I feel shading is what really makes a picture.
I'm curious though, you use pencils? It has a very brown look to it,though it could just be my screen, colors ten to be a little off on here.

I use pencils. In this piece, in the figure, I used 2H, HB, B, 2B, 3B and rarely 4B. In the background I used B, 2B, 2H, 4B, 5B, 7B and blended a lot to hide paper damage.
Graphite can have a naturally warm appearance which is often lost when a piece is scanned in.
In my last two or three pieces I have amplified this warm tone because I feel it makes the figures seem more alive.

I have all hose different pencils but for some reason i just never got into using them.
I hink the warm tone does look nice,a lot better than shades of gray

I do have a problem when I'm editing my pieces because everything seems lighter on a vista OS. When I print the image is usually 2x as dark as I had designed it to be.

I have that problem with everything i print at school, things always come out darker, sometimes so dark you lose a lot of detail. There are times i have to reprint project 3-4 times just because color and brightness is messed up :/

I've come to terms with it. Everyone will see it a little different on their monitor and their operating system but I know on my system it looks perfect to me

oh you filled in the description
I think people's head are to far up their own asses.Same sex marriage is no different than same sex,and who are we,or anyone else for that matter to judge? That makes me like your work that much more.Hopefully one day (soon) that will change.

Thank you. I try to hide my political views in my work, at least in the more recent pieces. Those that care can find my messages easily enough.
I hope it'll change soon too.
