i just want to tell this to everyone.
you don't need tutorials, classes, art schools, and many other crap >D
u know why? because art cannot be taught, it is something that is born within us all.
meaning, you're either talented or not.
You learn at ur own way and pace-- eventually you'll get to wherever you want.
it's just that, you can't be taught how to make that cloud so realistic, you're only taught at your own basics. Tutorials should usually just be used for techniques such as for photoshop, like how to make this thing do that-- or look like that-- but when it comes to the actually crafting-- that's something on ur own terms, not anyone else. Why do you think no one takes your hand and draw along with you? E___e;
referencces, you should not be afraid to use them, and also, you should not be afraid to look into anatomy books or look around, being an observant at human figures even though it may look like u could be a stalker XD --
you should study the life around you, it's better that way-- ^^!
if it takes you to draw lil stick figurines to awesome looking CG illustrations in one year, then you're really talented-- but lack of creativity. (ie. me DX)
yes, i don't have much creativity flowing in my head, well, i do, it's just that i get discouraged from many others pictures that are better than mines >__> ;; so, i am very negative and feel the likes to give up once in a while
-------------
comment on picture/tutorial:
O__O; ... i have no idea what this tutorial was for.... >.O;; why couldn't it be ur drawing/painting process?! DXXXXX that would be nice XD

okay, so you have told us exactly what steps you took to get your image.
how about telling us WHY you did those things?
like for example, why did you tint the image blue first, then tint it with green and red afterwars effectively reversing the effect of tinting it blue?
you may as well have not tinted it blue in the first place right?
you could have gotten those colours from simply using channel mixer or something else anyway.
I found absolutely nothing of value in your tutorial apart from learning how to make THAT pictur look how you made it look.
I would like to know some of the philosophy behind why you did it the colours you did.
for example why did you make it blue?
then why did you increase the other colours?
what effect does this have?
I could do a tutorial just like this...
here it is :-
make a new adjustment layer,
set it to hue saturation lightness.
click on colourise. choose your colour.
set transparency to 75%
use the mask tool to make some bits more colourful.
finished.
I am sorry to be so rude and nasty, but I hate to see you do this.
you have spent so much time on making this tutorial, and in the end it isn't really going to help anybody.
I have respect for you taking your time to do it, but If it doesn't help anybody, you have wasted your time and ours.
you simply have a lot of photoshop addicts going "KWL!!!111 u R GR8, U RUlz !! ! U R THa L337 Dude!!!"
and that doesn't help the art world at all......
once again, apologies for my rudeness but it just had to be said.

okay, so you have told us exactly what steps you took to get your image.
how about telling us WHY you did those things?
> i did all those Steps to apply a ceratain mood- a more colourful and harmonic picture ( i already did write this at the beginning of the tutorial- the hings about the pic looking too dull at the beginning- perhaps my english is too bad to understand that- if so im sorry)
like for example, why did you tint the image blue first, then tint it with green and red afterwars effectively reversing the effect of tinting it blue?
ΓΏ mhm perhaps i illustrated it wrong.
ΓΏ Ok i first tinted it blue with the gradation curve- the reason is to get a more harmonic pic with similar color schemes and get some more contrast.
ΓΏ After that i used the curve layers- to tint it in that yellowish-red colour.
ΓΏ The rgb, green, red and blue curves only showed the separated curves.-
ΓΏ I didnt tint it green, then red then blue.
ΓΏ And doesnt it show that combining green and red makes the picture look yellowish in RGb mode?
This should show how those curves work- many people dont even know that there s something like curves. And do they know what effect it takes if you move the sliders? And that you can add points to the slider.
you may as well have not tinted it blue in the first place right?
you could have gotten those colours from simply using channel mixer or something else anyway.
<- yes i could have- but i wanted it to explain with curves and show what possibilities you have while using them. Surely there are many different ways to apply this effect- but i showed it that way :/
I found absolutely nothing of value in your tutorial apart from learning how to make THAT pictur look how you made it look.
ΓΏ yes you only see how to make that picture look like it looks- but you can gather some information about layer masks, gradient maps and curves. You dont have to do it the way i did it-
but perhaps some people get to know which possibilities photoshop has got. I had to pick a picture to show this - if you dont know photoshop as well as you certainly do- you perhaps wont understand if you only wrote it down in words.
ΓΏ

Hi,
Thank you very much for your explainations.
I now understand why you did it that way.
It was in order to illustrate the different techniques to those who don't know photoshop.
I guess I was being a little ignorant about the people who have not used it as much as you or I.
A simple misunderstanding!
once, again, apologies for coming across as rude!

Good tutorial, you should include info on colour balancing and the use of selective colour ranges on hue/saturation adjustments too. I think these are also very useful.
