sorry for having another question T_T When i create a coloring layer between the one with the mask and my lineart and i start coloring, it colors over my lines too, and in your tut. when you colored the flat colors you can still see the sketch underneath. What do i have to do to fix that?

hmhmhm did you really select the coloring layer? perhaps you are still in the lineart layer.
in the layer palette it active layer is blue. perhaps that solves the problem?

ah, i thought it was shift XD thats ok, i should know more languages, id be hopeless if i was left in another country TwT oh btw, do i just use a sketch or the outlined version of the drawing when coloring?

Abuze In reply to TeenageDevil [2009-07-27 10:38:47 +0000 UTC]
depends on your lazyness its your decision. sketches can have a very dynamic feeling... outlines versions always look cleaner.
use which you like best

When I added the mask, and then tried to color under it, all it did was color my lines that color.
What did I do wrong?

Abuze In reply to xdarkxgypsyx [2008-08-24 21:25:49 +0000 UTC]
you have to click on the layer underneath- dont paint on the layer you created with the mask but paint on a layer under it.
was that what you meant?

I seem to be having trouble with the Mask part. my layer shows up black when I use paint bucket to fill in the black (the white lines are still there though) On yours its white even though the layer and mask say they are black. I am so confused

This is a great way of colouring, but you have to specify that people who don't know photoshop won't be able to do it.
Honestly, it would have taken me more than 10 minutes... like an hour and more, like any drawing I have to colour.

...or you could just select the colour you want and paint directly with that - and avoid screwing around with all the layer masks! That's what I do...
