Description
During the Lylat Wars, In the Meteo asteroid belt, a cornerian scout was pursued Venomian patrol vessel. Suddenly out of nowhere, a strange and oddly designed starship materialized in front of the two ships. Because Both crews of both starships saw the vessel materialize, they described it as being covered in a glowing green Aura and drifting silently with all power down. The Venomian Ship managed to take the mysterious ship while the Cornerian scout left to report to High command of the strange occurrence.
According to the crew of the scoutship, they said they they were about to make out the hull markings "NCC-1764" along with the Name U.S.S DEFIANT" on top of the "Saucer" of the starship.

Because the great Fox was only ship that was close the meteo sector. Team Starfox was instructed to investigate the whereabouts of this "U.S.S DEFIANT" that the Venomians now had acquired. Intelligence reported tat the ship was kept in a asteroid drydock somewhere in Meteo, and that it was not heavily defended. Upon Arriving to the Asteroid Drydock, the Team managed to slip into the dock undetected and made their way into the darkened bowels of the Defiant.

Inside, they found that most of the ship was dark due to a loss of power. Most of the Ship's interior was in a damaged but repairable state. Among their discoveries were the corpses of what appeared to be Hairless Humanoids that must have been the crew of the ship. It was then, the team split up, Fox, and Falco headed to the Bridge (via Jefferies tube), Slippy headed for the Reactor Core. Upon Reaching the Bridge, they found the Identification plaque of the Defiant and learned that it had come from a place Called "Tranquility base". On the floor of the bridge, two more corpses lay on the floor. One had his hands clutching the neck of (what fox perceived to be) the Captain.

Meanwhile in the Defiant's secondary hull Slippy, continued work on reactivating (figuring out) the Reactor Core When a transmission from Peppy that the Great fox has been spotted and is taking volleys of enemy fire. Knowing that they now can't get back to their arwings, the three decided that they must hurry in getting the Defiant back in working order if they are to escape.

Upon the activation of the Main Core and the restoration of impulse power, The Defiant fired her phasers at the Enemy defenses in the drydock and managed to flee from the dock, but not without firing several photon torpedoes at the Enemy Drydock.

After a skirmish with a Venomian Battleship, a transporter incident, an interruption into a battle and an incident with Starwolf, the Defiant was finally able to be brought to Corneria. there it was to be reverse engineered and the information from the Computer Core extracted to be examined. After further repairs/refits, the Defiant was put into service by the Cornerian Army and fought in the remainder of the lylat Wars. . . . as a second Mothership for Starfox.
