From online references, I draw it "by hand". If you can call MS Paint "by hand".

I have an idea maybe you can design Phaser arrays as an upgrade for all starships. I've been working on a few designs , but with little success.

I read somewhere, wish I could remember where, that the Ambassador unlike the rest of the main ships in star fleet was built with combat being the primary intent instead of exploration and science.

Yeah I guess thats why they only needed the 1 ship to hold the line a Kitomer (spelling?) so the Klingons would eventually become allies of the Federation.

I always liked the Ambassador class!
Its a shame she was underused in favor of the The Excelsior class which was definitely over-used.
