Description
Has anyone who played or heard of Breath of the Wild ever wondered, "Would Post-Calamity Hyrule be able to defend itself from an outside invasion"?In this post-apocalyptic state hyrule was in during the main events of the game, The Central government, the Kingdom of Hyrule was destroyed in the Calamity as well as a large majority of the Hylian population, that leaves only 4 smaller territories owned by the four races and central hyrule largely vacant due to the presence of calamity ganon. However after his defeat, now is the perfect time to strike.
The country invading in this scenario happens to be an industrial fascist totalitarian superstate, born from a kingdom's attempts to emulate the shiekah technology but without the convenience of magic and at the cost of their natural resources. Their reasons to invade Hyrule is simple and perfectly justified:
- Resources
- Territory
- Slaves
- Glory and national pride
- Living space (Lebensraum?)
The Invasion plan here, is set up into four phases with the intent to alienate and isolate the four races and gradually tighten control of Hyrule until the natives either submit or are annihilated. the guardians and the divine beasts shouldnt be much of a hazard as it is implied that they shut down after the defeat of calamity ganon. However there is stillthe rpesenc eof monsters so the invaison force is armed as though they are going to war (to which in some ways, they actually are).
The invasion follows these phases and goals.
- PHASE I: Occupation of Faron and the securing of a central base of operations in Central Hyrule. Blockade of Gerudo and Hebra
- PHASE II: Occupation of Necluda and the reinforcing of phase I's forces and resources. Blockade against Kakariko village.
- Phase III: Occupation of Lanayru and the establishment of dominance in Hyrule's inland bodies of water. Expansion of Phase I. Blockade of Elding and quarantine of Kakariko village.
- Phase IV Occupation of Akkala and establishment of chokehold against Eldin.
Each phase begins after confirmation that the previous phase has fully secured their perimeter and fulfilled all the objectives. by a After these phases have been fulfilled. Military forces should now be sent into unoccupied regions to either flush out resistance or to displace natives.
Any form of resistance from the natives from from the marauding beasts must, can, and will be terminated. Any attempt by their so called "Princess" and her "Appointed knight" to rebuild the old kingdom of Hyrule the inferior maggots that collaborate with them must, can, and will be WIPED from the face of the Earth. They must CRUSH them! They must SMASH them! They must STAMP THEM OUT! The people of this Nation and their traditional allies, will not rest until a final victory has been achieved. Death to the eternal enemy, Hyrule! Death to the Hylian Royal Family! Death! Death! DEATH!
This map is only a logistic map of the regions of occupation.
The Timeframe of this invasion is set not long after the post-credits of the game, about a week or so later.
This map has been compiled form over a century of data compiled by a network of expeditionary and reconnaissance teams deployed to hyrule over the course of a century the foreign country
If any fanfic writers are interested in doing fics based on an invasion scenario, you can use this for reference.

Yup! I mean, it only makes sense for some greedy nation to see Hyrule as free game.

especially when the central government died over a century ago.
The keyword here is "Industrial", meaning consumption of resources.

Yup. And since they've had 100 years to plan an attack, they'd probably be pretty effective as well. Additionally, since most of those both alive and loyal to the previous government aren't exactly in their prime, they'd be fairly easy to dispose of. Who knows?
ooh. this is really cool! If I wasn't already in the middle of so many projects I would totally give this more thought.

I mean the central governemnt of hyrule. The one that was destroyed in the great calamity.
But for this foreign nation, As part of it's backstory, it got news of Hyrule's excavation and use of shiekah tech and tried to emulate the tech themselves, but due to the lack of magic, tried to find alternatives. This resulted in this country experiencing an industrial revolution following the calamity of hyrule. Trying to develop technology to match the shiekah at the cost of expending their resources due to the fact that they dont have a triforce or magic to maintain the land. This country was only viewed by the people of hyrule as a "kingdom" but it was actually a fascist orwellian totalitarian Superstate that rules and controls its citizens with an iron grip, all as a means of keeping its society intact as they downt have wise and generous rulers such as the hylian royal family. It's essentially an orwellian dystopia (Hylians call it a Dark World) similar to Oceania from the novel, "1984".
The military on the other hand is visually inspired by the tolmekkians from "Nausicaa of the valley of the wind", being this mix of medieval knights and WWI and WWII era technology.
Yeah, i definetely feel like the only person wh thought of this. . .

if i were to depict this foreign nation invading hyrule. They'd be partially inspired by the Tolmekians from "Nausicaa and the valley of the wind" (the anime and the manga) Who resemble this strange mix between medieval knights and ww2 technology.

also inspired by Oceania from 1984 when it comes to brainwashing their citizens and soldiers to be loyal to them.
Basically, the land invading, is a land that, without the triforce or magic (the abolished magic) is less prosperous than Hyrule and had to seek other means to gain prosperity. The eople of that land view non-human sentients as inferior and that is the reason why their land only has humans, they killed off other mythical races and civilization out of xenophobic hatred.

Hylians would refer to that country as "The Dark world" due to it's dystopian atmosphere and society

not surprisingly, the party slogan of that country is douplespeak for the 3 parts of the triforce:
Weakness is Power
Ignorance is Wisdom
Fear is Courage.

idk, i think they would need the Yiga Clan, after they where out there uses then they kill them all. The Yiga only mean to serve a powerful master who hates hyrule.

But this nation doesnt hate it, they're trying to take it for resources and to expand territory like any other country

skysoul25 In reply to AceNos [2017-12-19 05:14:44 +0000 UTC]
i know that, but still The Yiga Clan would side with them and since they hate hyrule they would probably help this tribe take over hyrule.

When this enemy nation establishes a regional governemnt on hyrule, the yiga can easily be the enforcers/secret police for the region of hyrule.
Though how do you tihnk link and zelda should handle this invaison?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
skysoul25 In reply to AceNos [2017-12-19 05:54:39 +0000 UTC]
well I think Zelda and Link would actually gain alliances within each tribal area and the area's that the invasion isn't going to come in from. with the experiences they both gained in their adventure with the Calamty Ganon both could probably create counter assults.

i can also see them taking advantage of incompetence in the military of the enemy side.
Though i can see them debilitate the campaign just enough for the foreign nation to have to call for negotiations
Either that or she uses the triforce to erase that country from existence, which is something id rather not see.
Either way, its best to leave this to fanfic writers

Though imagine if it got to the point to where link has to travel t that country and confront the leaders in charge. It's going to be challenging since he has ben labeled as an enemy of the state and everyone there views him as a villain instead of a hero

i also had the concept of other similar totalitarian industrial in the zelda world.
- one that existed at an unknown time after the first sealing of calamity ganon during those 10,000 years. It tried to invade but wa sutterly destroyed when the hylian royal family used the triforce to wish them away (destroy them)
- Another nation that also tried to imitate shiekah technology though had the advantage of magic on their side and some stolen shiekah tech. When the great calamity occurred, they were not spared from Calamity Ganon's reach.
