Description
A little experiment of putting the master sword in a rather unconventional time and setting. The name is meant to be ironic.Related content

I like it, it reminds me of the ending to Valiant Hearts, now i'm just picturing Link running through the Trenches of WW1 earing a french uniform and the Master sword strapped to his back and carrying a rifle... Wow i should get on writing somthing like that... (furiously scribbles note for later)

or imagne link standing before no-mans-land witht he hylian shield strapped to his back a la captain america: images2.fanpop.com/image/photo…
And this incarnation of link would be only known as "The unknown soldier"
Also i prefer link in a british uniform not french

True, but i just loved the french helmets, don't know why, i just liked them, but i could see Link a British or Dough Boy uniform. Hylian Shield on his back, Master sword inone hand and a broomhandle mauser in the other, with either a wrecked german tank behind him or a crashed Zepplin.
I have no idea what we just came up with, but i love it

or an old hylian ruin marred with shell and bullet holes. something like this: anzacportal.dva.gov.au/sites/d… or this peace-league.com/wp-content/up…
This coupled with the master sword and hylian shield would give of the message that the legend of the hero as well as hyrule's legacy refuses to die in the face of modernity as well as hint at the medieval elements of zelda games being retained (WW1 also had medieval elements in trench raiding and body armor as well as the designs of the helmets).
Also i'd imaigne this incarnation of link wearing a gas mask to conceal his identity, the only giveaway being his pointed ears. instead of being referred to as the "Hero" he's known as the "unknown soldier". also the pistol would be a webley if i were to render it
id rather make the enemy ambigious or just an expy of the central powers since the zelda franchise isnt in our world.

So would i, maybe an amalam of Austo-Hungery and Germany, i like the idea of the gasmask, i like the Webley they're good reliable pistols, there's a reason that the British Tank Corps still use them. But for more of an aesthetic stand point for me i'd go with the broomhandle Mauser, or maby one of those Italian double barrel Sub Machine Guns i think it's the forgive me if i buture this, Viller Persona Submachine Gun, here's a picture i42.tinypic.com/6fwl1x.jpg

Maybe he looted those weapons from a dead enemy soldier
Also, what of the medieval elements?

That's what i was thinking, just like Battlefield 1.
As for Medieval, that's why i like the french of WW1, the cavalry went to war with pikes and steel breast plates, maybe under his trench coat he had a french cavalry chest plate, and maybe a trench club aswell Or a german made steel mace.

I also imagined the art syle and palette of such setting to be reminescient of the works of Jakub Rozalski: www.artstation.com/jakubrozals…
