I bought a set of Moleskine journals a while ago with the intention to customize them. This the first one. I had planned for something simple, with just black marker and maybe a touch of white but somewhere along the line i got carried away with all that hair...

So i used a black marker, a 2B and a white pencil and white acrylic on a 9x14 cm plain Moleskine journal.

I'm really in love with the way you draw your hair...
May I ask a question ? I observed your art a lot, and it occured to me that your technique to draw hair is somewhat similar to the technique to draw the folds of clothes. Am I right ?

Sorry for this late reply but yes, i don't notice it, but it works the same way. Just a little less wavy and unruly for the cloth.

I do the same thing! I get the XL plain brown journals and draw on the covers. I should put mine up too! lol. I thought about buying one of the black or red journals but I don't know if they have the same texture as this one.

Did you do anything to protect the cover to keep any of the pencil from rubbing off?

This is a really nice, finished looking design with gorgeous detail. The hair and accented pearls (pearls? beads?) are a wonderful touch. It looks like sparkle.
