Description
I bought a set of Moleskine journals a while ago with the intention to customize them. This the first one. I had planned for something simple, with just black marker and maybe a touch of white but somewhere along the line i got carried away with all that hair...You can see more views of it here [link] .
So i used a black marker, a 2B and a white pencil and white acrylic on a 9x14 cm plain Moleskine journal.
The journal is sold

Wow! This is beautiful. I love the dark outline around the image that brings it all together, and the detail in the hair is incredible. ^^

WOW, WOW, WOW. I'm sorry if that's all I'm really ever able to say when I see your artwork but...WOW. I think the white acrylic in this just makes the whole image pop. It looks fabulous! Gosh! I just LOVE the way you did the hair!

I draw a lot and try harder with every new piece. I also started looking around for references, noticing people's hands and features and anatomy and try to fuse that with my own style. I'm glad to hear it pays off.

Yes, for the highlights on her skin and hair and fabric. For the pearls i used white acrylic.

Thank you! Do you have suggestions about what kind of sealer should i use? I don't know if the cardboard-like cover needs something other than the usual fixatives.

RiseToTheWake In reply to Achen089 [2011-09-01 23:03:09 +0000 UTC]
Well I'd think that normal fixative would work fine but seeing as this is a journal and most likely not going to just sit on a shelf or something it might need something else to protect it from any wear and tear.. I'm not really sure though.. Possibly one of those glosses/finishes that you have to paint on?

I eventually used a regular fixative spray and it seems to work. Thanks for your suggestions though.
