I bought a set of Moleskine journals a while ago with the intention to customize them. This the first one. I had planned for something simple, with just black marker and maybe a touch of white but somewhere along the line i got carried away with all that hair...

So i used a black marker, a 2B and a white pencil and white acrylic on a 9x14 cm plain Moleskine journal.

Beautiful, but the ship looks ridiculous (Mean? Yeah True? Yes) . I love the white contrast and the the wavy hair. You drew the girl beautifully.

Found the comment, hallelujah! I'm sorry if it was rude, but I finally realized that some dogs do howl...all day. Nonetheless, I do stand by what I say. The ship looks cartoonish. Also, the hard edges of the sails and hull are disconcerting seeing as the majority (keyword) of the picture looks flowing. Along with that, the pearls that are covering the flag (slightly) look much more 3D-ish compared to the ship also making it look (to me) slightly thrown off. Then of course, there's that feeling that shrouds it all, the feeling that something looks strange but you can't put your finger on what. It really is a beautiful picture but it only takes one mine to set the entire minefield off (I have queer ideas, I know. I hope you understand, but if you don't...I apologize.

very beautiful, the white sets it off, and I like how you have also used white in the hair bit its very subtle in comparison to the pearls. the border is very creative!

I find them in a few bookstores, usually the ones who also sell art supplies/gifts etc. But you can probably order them online if you can't find them.
