Description
+ [ Yay Daily Dev! ] All I'm going to say regarding the comments so far... remember that this photo is but a single one in the hundreds that the bride and groom receive. Their whole wedding isn't summed up in this single frame. Sure it's focused mostly on the bride, but believe it or not, we take plenty of the groom too.+ We can all say thank you to the Canon 50mm 1.2L for this one.

+ Enjoy!

it! And please we all know the men do not care about the photos. Its the Bride that cares and this shot is lovely.

Whoa. That would be an awesome picture, if not for all the blurring being so... off.
Ugh. When I get my wedding pictures done, they better not edit them at all.

The blur isn't a product of editing. Shooting with an aperture of 1.2 produces a very shallow depth of field. In this specific photo (one of out the thousand the client received), I felt it was warranted.

1/2500 @ f/1.2, ISO 400, 5DII (Our web border applying action seems to purge that data.) Thanks for asking!

Very interesting with the blur on the groom, the bride is just beaming and happy

i actually dont mind the blur, it gets you to focus on the prettier of the two in the photo (yeah, dude, no offense but she's prettier than you....XD)
and the fact that he was so totally not ready for the photo and she was is just a really nice effect.
Congrats on the DailyDeviation!

I like the blur. The girl in focus really shows off the happy occasion but his 'game over' face someone called it works well with the blur. Kind of a negative thing for a negative face.
Threw me off for a minute but I still like it.

If the face wasn't blurred, it would have been a great photo.
Bad work with the blur..

The blur is distracting, but then again perhaps that was your intention. Things we'll never know. XD

Would it be better to say you can blame the Canon 50mm 1.2L for this one? It's such a shame the groom is beyond out of focus. It's detracting from the whole point of a wedding photo- seeing the happy couple. It's not a bad photo and the bride looks beautiful, but this is absolutely not DD material

I'm not bothered so much by the blurring of the groom except for the fact his ears are in focus. It's rather od and distracting. XD
She looks lovely though!

Congrats on the DD, but I have to say that the groom's face being so out of focus and right in the viewers face really takes away from this image.. :[

He doesn't seem exactly happy, does he? It's more a sort of restrained sadness with an attempt at a smile.
Also lol at the guy being out of focus. 1.2L is nice, but it doesn't work very well for pictures like this imo.

That's more likely the case, or else he'd not have married her (traditionally/by default, anyway). But without super reading into it, that was just the initial impression I got, was all.

I like the concept of the picture, I really do, but I don't like that the groom is not focused correctly. I don't think that this really deserves the Daily Deviation title. I'm sorry, but no. Although the bride is really beautiful and happy.

You captured a moment of pure happiness and it is beautiful. The smile of the bride, the shine in her eyes is enough to tell a story, to show that in that very second every last one of her childhood dreams had come true and even though her expression is enough to distract from the rest of the foto does anyone else see that the groom is frowning?

Is it okay for the groom to cry at his wedding?
A lovely picture.

I guess, I mean weeping like a baby might be a little odd but a couple of tears of joy I believe that would be acceptable.

I almost don't like how his face is blurred out
Lots of bridezillas and self-centered women forget that a wedding is a ceremony of two people, instead of a solo act.
Well, this is how I interpret the image, that alllll the focus goes to HER.... Whether or not this is the intention, at least it gave a message and meaning to me

SugarBeatAngel In reply to hezoo [2010-07-26 14:20:06 +0000 UTC]
I agree 100%
Though the image of her is lovely, I don't like that the groom is blurred out at all. If I were going to pay for photographs of my wedding (ha ha, too late) I certainly wouldn't pay for that.
If the blur effect was added afterwards, then certainly it would be alright.
Though, the wedding IS just as much about the groom as it is the bride and I would like to see his face more clearly to give an idea of what he's thinking.
We KNOW she's happy! She just had her dream wedding. But what's HIS take on the whole thing? Is he just as happy?
Not to sound rude to the photographer, I just would have liked to see both their faces. Though this is lovely, they're a unit now and they're equally is special.
