Description + It's been a while since we've done a beach wedding and we've missed them! Sarah & Ben had a wonderfully small ceremony in Seaside, FL (near Destin.)

+ Ooh, and this wedding was our first with the new Canon 40D!

+ Edits: Too much for me to recall. I know I double-exposed for the sky at least. Blah blah blah. This isn't my normal editing style, but it's always good to experiment.

+ Enjoy!

Beautifully done...not your typical wedding shot!
And the setting is gorgeous...I live about 2 miles from where your shot this, so I know what a great setting those beaches are for weddings.
Nicely done!

My family has a condo in Seaside. It's beautiful there.

I like this shot, but I feel like it could the amount of light/exposure on the right side makes it seem a little unbalanced.

Only shot one wedding so far, but I'm liking it. The RAW file sizes are wayyy too big, but the AF speed and quality seem top-notch.

Really nice work. My only issue is the Luminance banding.

Yah, kinda bugs me too. I pushed the whole PSD file pretty far, but I'm not sure what I should have done to avoid it. Worked in 16bit mode at first? Any suggestions?

Omega300m In reply to achfoo [2007-10-02 04:48:20 +0000 UTC]

16 bit is def the best place to start.
I might also apply local gaussian blur with slight monochromatic noise to help avoid banding.

IaiaRose [2007-10-01 20:20:17 +0000 UTC]

Woo new cam!

The angle really adds to the swoop of the couple, and the back lighting seems to scoop them right up. The sepia is okay around the lighted areas, but its tones are blahing out towards the bottom left side.
