Description
I found an old sketch lying around and decided to rework it.I love watching them grow. Doesn't everyone's parents tell stories about their kids?
Zyxurq and Valken belong to me and themselves respectively. Done with colored pencils, border added digitally.

Most of the time I don't mind when my mum starts rambling about when I was little .. It's when she starts in the middle of a shop or something. It's like just shut up already D8

My mom does it most when other parents are around. That includes parents of cousins or parents of friends. And yeah, its like 'shut up already they don't need to know'. But now, its like 'meh, whatever'.

Well there's the light-yellow-green, a blue-green, a dark-green, a dark-blue and black. There's no colored pencil that has multiple shades for you, you mix it yourself.
Yeah, they like to do that. Like all the times as a kid I was asked something and my mom answered FOR me. Apparently I can't speak for myself and she knows me better than I do. >>;

Then I have a feeling I'm going to need some more coloured pencils. 8D;; The sets I own already are kinda limited in colours.
DD: My mum used to do that all the time too. It's even worse when they answer with exactly the opposite so you try to correct them and they just ignore. D8 It's like .. I have a mouth, so let me use it.

Yeah, I think that's why I ended up being so quiet as a kid, because I couldn't compete with my mom's mouth.

So cute! I really love the concept. Is your monitor very light, though? I can see gray patches and edges in the white areas that haven't been completely erased.

but i think my favorite parts are the subtle hand positions/gestures and poses overall. they really bring out what they're thinking and talking about.

Thank you! I had the hardest time with Zy's hands. I finally settled on having him nervously brushing his hair, but the other hand still looks like he's praying or something. I tried for a "halt/stop" pose. >>;

I've always loved the way you shade, but I'm quite taken to Zy's hair here.
Its easy to get a nice family feel from this. I like it since you don't draw Zy/Val pics that much anymore. Not that I'm complaining or anything, I like XeiVal more anyway and theres a nice amount of those : D

I should do more parent/child pictures. I usually do a few around mother's/father's day... but the rarity of it makes it that much sweeter.

Almost nine years. And that would be my dear Cattail, who I don't really draw anymore, but she got my first and only DD, so that's all well and good. I started fairietails when I was eleven, and as you can see it has progressed very far... *ahemcoughRAVENcough*
