Description
I got a chance to visit the Zoo in Atlanta while I was in town. The Komodo dragon at the Atlanta zoo was really really cool. I could not take a decent image through the Plexiglas of the enclosure. I tried several times, no luck.
But there was a bronze statue out frontβ¦
Technical Stuff: Canon 20D, EF 70-200 f2.8l @ 100mm f2.8, 1/200th Second, ISO 400
Where do you put a picture of a statue of an animal?
Edit: Much to my surprise this image has become rather popular. If you liked this image, you may wish to check out:

Oddly enough, the Audubon Zoo (in New Orleans) also has a bronze statue of a komodo dragon in front of the dragons' enclosure. I wonder if other zoos around the country have statues too.

I didn't know that. Β I'll keep an eye out and see what other Zoos do that.

It looks so real! I also like how it's blurred at the nose, but the eye is really clear.

Thank you!
Lucky for me the statue didn't move much. That makes it much easier to photograph

Pretty well done that statue, if it wasnt for the colors and the too tidy/clean look it could be a real one!

I know. The sculptor did a great job with the statue

I don't think I understand the question. Are you asking me what kind of gear I use, or what I used instead of a real creature?
Or something else entirely?

statue or not, this is very good. Agreed about the blur, it really draws your eye inwards to the whole shot

Cool! The angle/shape just seems to draw you to the eye taking away from the slight blur at the front of his nose. Great shot!
